Nothing to complain about at all. We use them often! Great holders for soft boiled eggs!
easy to clean, stores compactly, and great size.
I ordered this $20 set of six Cinf durable ceramic macaron eggholders (Amazon ASIN B0DHS2D18R) because I wanted to make eating hard & soft-boiled eggs easier and more pleasant to enjoy. What I love is these six individual ceramic egg cups are designed to be heavy enough to hold both hard-boiled and soft-boiled eggs without fear of tipping over, and they collect what spills. Given those inevitable spills, when done, not only are they easy to clean, but they're stackable so they're easy to stowe.I like that each is a different color. As such, they make nice neat & decorative table services for a party of up to six. Speaking of each being a different color, the name 'Macaron', when I looked it up, apparently it refers to the set's appealing pastel color palette, reminiscent of the popular French macaron cookies. Of course, I then had to look up what a "French macaron cookie" was, which turned out to be a colorful meringue-based sandwich cookie which is perfectly round at the base. Ah. They "look" like the colorful French macaron cookies do. Who knew. Not me.I ordered them because I liked them, where these cups fit my fresh eggs (see images). They are best for hard and soft-boiled eggs, and blanched eggs would also work out, but not coddled eggs. I tried a poached egg, but it didn't sit well with the shell removed. They're more practically eaten from an egg cup designed for shelled eggs (same as with fried & scrambled eggs). Please see the included detailed photos. Overall these egg holders are great for anyone looking for an easy to use, easy to clean and easy-to-store set of egg holders. I hope the details and photos in review helps you make a better informed decision.
Alright, so these Cinf ceramic macaron egg holders showed up. My wife likes her soft-boiled eggs, and I figured these might be a bit better than just plonking them down on a plate. They come in a pack of six, which is plenty for us.What I like about them is that they're straightforward. They're ceramic, feel solid, and have a bit of heft – not some flimsy plastic things. The colors are bright, sort of like those macaron cookies they're named after. My wife thinks they're cute. For me, they just plain work. The egg sits in there snug, whether it's a hard-boiled one or one of those runny ones she prefers. They don't wobble around, which is good. Cleaning them is easy too, just a quick rinse. As for dislikes, there really isn't much to complain about with these. They're egg holders. They hold eggs. Maybe if you're looking for something super fancy or decorative, these might be a bit simple, but for a regular guy who just needs something functional that looks decent enough, they hit the mark.I’m giving these a 5-star rating. Why? Because they do exactly what they're supposed to do, they do it well, and they seem like they'll last. They're not complicated, they're built solid, and they make eating a soft-boiled egg a little less messy. For something as simple as an egg cup, these things deliver. No fuss, no problems. Just a good, sturdy way to hold an egg.
Nice egg cups, shame Amazon packed them terribly which resulted in breakage. Finally got a good delivery no thanks to Amazon packaging. When are Amazon going to start packaging things safely again, getting tired of damaged items.
These egg cups are a perfect size for holding a large to jumbo size boiled egg. Some egg cups are too big and the egg wobbles around a bit, and others are too small, leaving the egg precariously perched on top, but our eggs fit perfectly in these cups without any danger of tipping over or out. The colors are nice, and the glaze is smooth and blemish-free, though it could be a little bit higher quality (it's thinner in some spots than in others).Unlike a traditional egg cup, these can be served without a plate under them, if you like - the lip is designed to catch any drips or spills from a runny yolk, and can even be used to rest a spoon on. They are thick and sturdy, so you don't have to worry about whacking it with your spoon by accident, and they can go in the dishwasher, though they are pretty easy to wash by hand, too.The only drawback to these is if you want more than one egg for breakfast, your place might get a bit crowded, because they do take up a lot of real estate on the plate or placemat, but for a quick breakfast or snack, they're just right.
