I was not sure what I was getting when I ordered this Transparent Plastic Vinyl contact paper, because it read like something that was a little better ans and slightly different than your average contact paper used in drawers and cabinets. And, it is, better, that is. The uses for this , in my opinion, are endless. This is 1 roll of Clear or Transparent Plastic Vinyl contact paper by Yunihome, and the 1 roll is 23.6 inched long by 236 inches wide, so thats a lot of vinyl paper to use on multiple projects around the home. I even wrapped some around the legs of my dining room table chairs that are made of an expensive cloth, and that one of my cats loves to sharpen her claws on. I wasn't sure if it would even stick well, or stick at all, but it did even though cloth chairs aren't a surface that this paper is intended for. Since we haven't finished the backsplash behind our kitchen stove, its just plain painted walls which I have to clean often because of the cooking grease splattering on them. I cut this to size after cleaning the walls good and applied it to the painted surface (we did use a shiny glossy paint, I don't remember what you call it) and it stayed on without any curling or peeling. It was easy to cut thanks to the lined graphs on the paper roll, and easy to apply. This contact paper repels stains and grease, so im looking forward to less elbow grease when wiping it down. The paper is clear, not smokey and wipes clean easily. It didn't leave any messy residue behind when i had to remove on piece to resize it, and it went back on and stuck just as well as it did the first time I applied it. Its a bit pricey for contact paper, but you get a lot more for your money, and its good quality which makes this product an excellent value. Looks nice, its easy application, eady to measure, easy to clean, and protects multiple surfaces.
Clear Contact Paper, 23.6 * 236 Inches Peel and Stick Waterproof Self Adhesive Vinyl – Oil Proof, Removable No Residue for Kitchen Cabinets, Countertops, Shelves & Book Covers...I truly agonized over how to get this clear contact paper evenly on the back-splash for my stove. The back-splash is 33' wide and I wanted it at least 26" deep. I wished it were wider. No matter how I cut the paper, it was going to be short and have some overlap. I wanted to avoid cutting the paper multiple times for any job - a little greedy, I admit. I thought I could easily move the stove but the back legs sit up on wood slabs to level it...so reaching over the stove was the only way to apply the contact paper and I worried it couldn't apply it without bubbling up. After much worry and a bit of anxiety, I finally got it applied. WOW - Yumihome's clear contact paper was so very easy to apply. I'm embarrassed to admit it. I had to cut another strip 7" deep and then apply it vertically with a little overlap - leaving about 4 inches from the bottom as uncovered back-splash area. This actually looks great and I'm quite happy with Yumihome's clear contact paper!! I hate cleaning the grout of the backspash -Yumihome's clear contact paper functions perfectly! I've been able to easily clean any oil and food splash with a sponge or sanitizing /cleaning wipes without any buckle or release from the wall. Yumihome's clear contact paper feels thin and appropriate for the areas of use making it less likely to buckle when cleaning it. I was hesitant once again but decided the Yumihome's clear contact paper could also protect an old red-leather top card table I inherited. I can now use my table more frequently for any hobby projects without worry of stains, scratches or cut to the leather. Yes there is again some overlap, but worth the trade-off to protect my table. Yumihome's clear contact paper sticks really strong to the leather and table. Too soon to say because I don't plan on removing it, but I may need my blow dryer on low heat to help remove the stickiness from the leather. For now, Yumihome's clear contact paper is extremely easy to apply, easy to clean, affordable for so many uses, and will protect my walls and wood-leather furniture. Why did I worry?? Because I couldn't see it until I applied it...Extremely happy with my decision.
too thin
I've used "Yunihome Clear Contact Paper, 23.6 * 236 Inches Peel and Stick Waterproof Self Adhesive Vinyl" for two purposes: shelf paper and acrylic art paint skins. I also tested the adhesive on multiple surfaces. As a protective or sanitary surface: I found that it sticks best to glass, shiny plastic, and a smooth gloss painted surface. It also did quite well on my kitchen cabinets, which are painted with an oil-based enamel. It didn't do very well as a drawer liner in unsealed wood drawers. It seemed to stick better over time, as long as the surface is fairly smooth and sealed. I tried some on a lightly varnished wood TV tray. While it didn't seem to stick well at first, I left it overnight for the acrylic skin experiment below, and the next morning it was sticking much better to the tray. Thanks to the 1 cm grid on the paper backing, the contact paper is very easy to cut to fit.As a removable surface for acrylic paint skins: This contact paper is an excellent surface for acrylic skins. As it lies completely flat attached to a glass or plastic palette, wet paint is less likely to drip or puddle. In my experiment I squeezed paint directly from the tube, and spread it fairly thin with a palette knife (about the same thickness as my fingernail polish- not exactly specific, I know, but thick can nail polish get?) I first peeled the contact paper away from the tray, and then separated the dried paint from the contact paper. It separated cleanly, without any tears to the acrylic (or to the contact paper.)As advertised, the contact paper did not leave behind any visible adhesive residue on any of the surfaces.I definitely recommend this clear contact paper as a protective surface and for making acrylic paint skins.
