Perfect Ice Balls!
This is a unique piece of equipment to own. It makes 4 perfectly clear ice balls just as it claims. It adds some class to your drinks and is just all around nice to have. As a whiskey drinker, it serves its purpose. It’s super simple to use almost like set it and forget it! The next day you have the ice balls.My only complaint is its size. It’s HUGE for what it does and takes up a lot of space in your freezer. Hence why I only used it a few times. As a family of 4 who preserves and preps a lot of food, it takes up valuable space in the freezer. Space we need for food. So it’s really only used for special events or if we’re having people over.Lastly, at the time of this review, it’s about $60. To me, that’s a little steep for something that takes up a lot of space for quite a bit of time. The only reason I removed a star is due to the size. Other than that, it does exactly what it claims.

Impressive ice Balls that are clear - even with tap water
I have used other more expensive versions of this system before and I will say that for the money this is an excellent system that delivers 4 large 2.5" ice balls that are crystal clear. I find I get great results just using cold tap water. The ice comes out crystal clear and freezes perfectly.This is a little more complex than other versions I have used in the past but it works perfectly and delivers some really nice ice balls. These balls are much larger and last much longer than the previous ice balls I had been making. Making 4 at a time is great and the handle makes it easy to carry this to the freezer without spilling any.They suggest freezing for 18-24 hours, which has proven to work well for me. Even if all the water underneath wasn't frozen yet, the balls were solid and easy to get out of the molds. If you are on the fence or unsure of this type of system I say take the plunge and give it a try. Clear ice balls have many advantages. They last longer, melt more slowly, and are far less likely to crack into pieces when melting. Plus they just look so good in a rocks glass with a little bourbon surrounding them, but I digress. I really have enjoyed these ice balls and think this is a good value for the price being listed. I make them every day for a while and just store them in a freezer bag for easy access. Easy to stock up for parties or gatherings, and will pay for itself quickly if you are buying ice balls from a liquor store or grocery store. These are not only fun to make but they are higher quality than most others I have seen before. Very happy with this product. Have used it multiple times already and will continue to stock up my freezer with crystal clear 2.5" Ice Balls.

Nearly perfect ice balls, just takes up space
I’ve tried several ice ball molds over the years and most of them never work as advertised. Using regular tap water, they usually end up with a cloudy center or don’t freeze into a complete sphere.This set has come the closest so far. The ice balls freeze relatively clear and are about 99% spherical. There’s a small flat spot or bump, so they aren’t a perfect sphere, but they’re very close. The overall design and materials feel higher quality than most sets I’ve tried.The design allows the ice to freeze in a more uniform way, which helps with clarity. The main downside is the outer container the molds sit in, it’s fairly large and takes up a noticeable amount of freezer space.On the plus side, it’s very easy to use. Just fill it with water, freeze it for a day, let it sit for a few minutes after removing it from the freezer, and the ice releases easily.Overall, it’s a very good ice ball mold that delivers close to what it promises, just not a perfect result.

A great kit to make ice balls...needs some freezer space!
This is a very nice ice maker! This ice maker is large and well made. It makes four large ice balls that work perfectly in my drink! The setup is a little different than other ice makes, but I should expect this for an ice ball. I followed the instructions (that are on the side of the box) and left some air in the first set. They worked and looked great. This is a classy addition to your drink time. My only negative is the size of the device. It does take up a decent amount of space in your freezer...but it is worth it!
