Fabulous, just what I wanted. If you followed the instructions, you'll get perfectly round clear.Ice balls. It's simple and easy to use. The only thing is the actual time it takes about 20 hours to get a perfect ice ball. What I like is this set comes with an ice caddy so you can make a lot of balls ahead of time and then be able to store them.
I never thought I'd write a review about ice balls, but here I am writing about ice balls.I prefer my whisky and bourbon served over clear ice. A minimal ice shape slows down dilution and that means large ice chunks works best. 2" cubes work well, but an Ice ball offers the least surface area. I've tried several clear ice ball/mold systems. All have been frustrating.Basic theory to mold clear ice is to make it inside an insulated container with a reservoir on the bottom and ice mold on top. Clear ice will form on top. The not-so-clear ice with minerals and bubbles sit at the bottom. Some systems work kinda okay but all are difficult to manage if the mold is silicon and the container foam. The problem is the combination of flexible silicon mold and flexible foam make it very difficult to remove the mold and shaped ice.This one work really well because the container is a thermal stainless cup and the mold is silicon. Because the container is rigid, even when frozen the inner silicon mold moves freely out of the base as the ice is formed and expands. Unlike any other clear ice system the silicon mold is pushed up and easily released from the container. From the mold, the ice ball can be easily removed. The mold ice is perfect in shape with no flaws and mostly clear. It really works!I wish the container was taller by an inch to allow more room for the less-than-clear-ice below. Clear ice formed in the mold would be more consistent. PS When making clear ice, I use filtered water.

Cool cube maker, I don't use distilled water but the cubes are still very clear. Easy to use but there will be spilled water when filling.
This ice maker produces completely clear, long lasting ball-shaped ice that are perfect for keeping cocktails chilled. A single ball is all you need to keep your drink chilled without becoming watered down from excessive ice melt.I was surprised by the instructions that stated that you need to wait at least 24 hours for the ice ball to freeze completely. You really do need to wait that long otherwise you'll end up with an ice ball that is not completely round. The ice balls are very easy to remove from the mold. We keep a container full of half a dozen or so ice balls in the freezer at all times and refill the molds and refreeze each time that we use one of the balls.
Easy to use. Makes perfect ice spheres for cocktails. We loved them so much we purchased another set. Perfect size for storage when not in use. Easy removal of the ice spheres.
These worked out wonderfully! The ice quality after was superb and the shape was perfect! I have found that you need to use bottled purified water for the best results but other than that these are awesome!
