Thick, Clear, and Extremely Helpful for Protecting Light Countertops

This clear silicone countertop protector has been surprisingly useful for my home. It’s large, thick, and completely transparent, so it blends in nicely without changing the look of the surface underneath. While it’s marketed for kitchen use, I actually use it in my bathroom, and it has worked beautifully there.I have white marble and white countertops, and I regularly use turmeric for skincare, which stains very easily. Decent product, but not for the price!

Before I get to the pros and cons, I want to make it clear that the price for this item ($26 as I write this) is egregious. Usually when I mention the price, I don't let it affect the overall number of stars, but this is absurd. This is a $10 or maybe $12 product, and I'm removing 2 stars because of the severe overpricing.That said, this is a fine product that does what it purports to do. After peeling off film from both sides, the silicone is colorless, clear, and nicely thin. It also clings well; while it can be a tiny bit tricky to place, once placed it stays where you put it. It's about two feet long and 15 or 16 inches deep.I've placed it on my countertop directly in front of my air-fryer, and I have no qualms about putting very high-temp items on it. Like most silicone items, it's very durable.

Terrible on granite counters!

I wanted to give this a better rating but I can't because I won't be using it. I guess I was expecting more like a rubber placemat to protect my counters, but this is a thin flimsy rolled up sheet of silicone. I had so much trouble putting on on my countertop straight. It's VERY sticky and I kept having to lift it up and adjust to get it square. In the process of all that it picked up EVERY SINGLE hair and fuzz ball within a 3 foot radius. There's no way this will stay clean if you have pets in the house! It looks terrible and shows all the air bubbles under it. When I did finally get it to place right on my counter, I guess it holds up to heat well. I put a hot pot from the stove on it, and it seemed to do well. I just hate that you can't slide anything across it because of how sticky it is. I almost broke several glasses because of it. I guess for heat and water resistance on a wood counter, it would be fine but on granite it's absolutely terrible.

Works and can be almost invisible!

At first sight when opening the package I thought “what a piece of junk”. But then I used the silicon mat under my coffee grinder and maker and it is awesome. If you want to protect your surface (in my case, a granite countertop), this silicon mat sticks to the surface, doesn’t move, and blends in as if it is not there. Perfect for your area that needs a little extra protection and grip (yep, it is grippy so whatever you put on it won’t slide). Nothing bad to say about it except it is a little on the costly size (but it works so I’ll ignore that in the grading). If you’re going to use it as a work area I’d suggest getting one of the larger ones (just will give you more work space). And if you want it to blend in (like it did on my countertop), you’re countertop will need to be a smooth surface (tiles with grout are not smooth but it will still work just as well as a protection barrier).

Great

This silicone counter protector is really low profile and is hardly noticeable on my marble countertop. It came with a peel away film on both sides and lays flush with the marble. It has no smell to it and wipes clean easily and has really helped protect my counter from coffee stains. It seems good quality and should last. I like how it can also protect my surface from heat and cold and I will get one for putting next to my stove.
