This is a cute tea pot and is big enough for two nice size mugs of tea in the evening. Most other teapots are too small make one big cup or two tiny ones. Keeps the water hot while the tea steeps.Love it! 🥰
I use this every day, some days multiple times and purchased another one recently as a gift. I just love it.It’s so nice and not messy (no screens and screws). It’s easy to clean with a quick rinse and it is dishwasher safe. This is the best teapot ever!!
It brews one cup (not the unit of measurement) of tea at a time, and it is pretty thin so be careful when washing and transporting it. You wouldn’t want to place this in a sink with other dishes in it. Preferably place a cloth beneath it for safety. I like that it has a metal lid/strainer so there is likely zero plastic contamination. Still a slight nickel contamination because it is corrosion resistant stainless steel but that is leagues better than plastic. There is a silicone lip on the lid that prevents the lid from falling out and keeps it watertight, meaning it comes in contact with the tea when pouring. The strainer filters out all medium sized particles, the ones that get through are comfortable to swallow. I have only used this with teabag tea, since I don’t like the idea of having forever chemicals in my body I just tear open the bag and pour it in, that works perfectly with the strainer. When you have just put boiling hot water in there, the sides will immediately get hot enough to burn you. Just set it down and let it steep like you would any other tea, and pour it when the glass is comfortable to touch. I like to keep the lid on while steeping to keep any flavor from evaporating off but I don’t know if this works, and it may have the adverse effect of heating the silicone lip and creating greater contamination. Overall a product that functions very well, 9/10
After much research I chose this for tea-making because:- one container for both heating the water and steeping the tea = less "stuff" in my kitchen- simple, clean design - no fiddly parts- borosilicate glass won't rust or leach chemicals- no metal contacting the water and "flavoring" my tea- $20 vs. $200 designer pots that reportedly rust, flake off their coatings, etc. If it breaks, I can buy 19 more for the same moneyGOOD:It works perfectly, pours without dribbling and is easy to clean.BAD:A pot advertised as cooktop-safe must have a flat bottom for use on a glass-ceramic electric burner. This pot does not.The bottom is slightly concave, so only the outer perimeter actually touches the cooktop. On a gas cooktop this wouldn't matter, the flame would heat the entire bottom evenly enough. But on an glass top electric cooker, all the direct heat will be focused on one narrow ring of glass. This is exactly what you DON'T want, ESPECIALLY in a glass pot. It creates hot spots surrounded by cold spots. That increases thermal stresses within the glass, increasing the likelihood of it breaking. This (I expect) explains the many pics of pots whose bottoms fell off.SOLUTION:Heating in the microwave (sans metal lid) is safer and works fine. If that works for you this is a great solution. If you must use your glass cooktop, I'd look elsewhere.
High-quality, beautiful design, using it every day, easy to clean
I got served tea in a pot like this at a restaurant and I was determined to buy one of my own, and this is it!I love that the strainer is in the lid, it leaves a lot more room for tea (compared to the ones with the strainer in the pot itself)The glass is very thin, so be careful when using it so it doesn’t break. If mine broke I would re-buy it right away though.
Been using it for a few months now and I like the glass, weight is good, it’s relatively easy to clean. But, somehow the filter in the lid both gets blocked (so tea can’t come out) and I get tea bits in my cup. Also, even though it’s 27oz that would be filling it to the very top. In reality it’s about 22oz of tea that you get.
