It's super quiet, heavy, well made, looks great, small and most importantly grinds coffee very well and consistently. Incredible value!
Had this a few weeks now and have ground dozens of espresso shot doses in it.I did a ton of research on bean grinders and the amount of info overload is something to behold. From flat burrs to conical style, it’s easy to get overwhelmed.I was about to drop 600 dollars on a high end grinder when I saw this on my Amazon feed. For the sale on it I decided why not.It is light years ahead of the breville built in grinder and much quieter. It produces very evenly ground grinds and it’s enjoyable to use. The magnetic cup, single dose funnel / bellow combo make grind retention near zero. I highly recommend a spritz of water on the beans before grinding as this makes it less static.Shots come out smoother, less channeling due to uniform ground size and it has sped up my work flow in the mornings and evenings. For those wanting to upgrade their grinder for a solid price this is a good place to start. It’s well built, easy to use and has improved my level of enjoyment with home espresso making.
Great-simple-consistent performing budget espresso grinder. As a Design Professional (Industrial Designer). I can really appreciate the overall design and performance of this grinder. This simple but very well engineered grinder performs well beyond its $145 price tag.Pros: All metal construction (built like a tank!)Simple to use (Just on off switch and grind setting dial)24 volt DC motor is lower RPM and leads to slightly slower but no overheating when grinding.Nice finish options ( mat black or anodized aluminum)Great dosing cup design and fitment.Very low (if any) retention and efficient bellows to blow out after grindFine - Precise gind adjustmentSuperb packaging design (almost like an Apple product)CONS: Limited (but sufficient) adjustment range for espressoPower supply is an issue , but small enough to hide behind my Rancilio Sylvia.A bit on the slow grinding side (but fits into work flow nicely)Documentation not great but hardly needed!Should come with warranty registration link or mail in cardI'm still working on getting my process dialed in, but confident this great little grinder will bea great long term partner to my Rancilio Sylvia at a fraction of the cost of similarly designed conicalburr grinders. Would certainly recommend if you want to spend less than $200 or more on a grinder.
THIS is by far the best grinder, PERIOD! it solves all the issues with grinding (static, having to bump your grinder around to release grinds stuck in the machine, etc). It is well designed and solid construction. feels very heavy duty. All the parts are simple and metal. I can see this lasting for a long long time. The ONLY downside is the power supply. Its like an old laptop power supply. very bulky on a countertop. Its a Keerda 24v 4A 96w ad adapter with a DC barrel plug. I wish there was a smaller power adapter to power this but that type of power (24 volts at 4 amps) only comes in ac adapter type power supplies as far as I know. Not totally sure.In any case, ive tried many conical grinders (Hamilton Beach, OXO, Fellow) and the OXO Conical Burr Coffee Grinder was the best of all ive had. I've also tried the OXO compact grinder which is horrible. its such a hassle to use and messy. Now this grinder is my favorite. I love the pump feature to push grinds out. that is GENIUS! and then the magnetic base and anti static discharge. all things you need. But most of all its a top down grinder and thats what you want. all others have annoying steps you gotta take to get your grinds. You want to be able to load beans on the top and they come out in a cup. This grinder is SOLID and the conical grinder is very nice. You can clean it too. Everything is very easy yet high quality.
Good Product. Price seems to be a bit higher compared to the quality and the details below suggest why. Overall, can recommend.Pros: Good Metallic construction, very little to no retention, the bellow is a great addition and surprising to see in this. Grinds fine enough for good espresso even with medium roasts (typically 10-13 work great) Has a similar design as the Turin DF64 which means its pretty easy to use and has similar great functionality. Unlike the more expensive Turin though it does not have the internals, so it is still a conical burr grinder which is not really an issue unless you are specifically looking for the flat burrs. The metallic construction is really great and looks great on a kitchen countertop. Coffee out of this grinder is pretty good and characteristic of conical burrs, this produces a variety of particle sizes.Cons: Compared to the price, it lacks the quality in some key area. such as: the grinder setting does not line up with the markers properly, it can be a result of finer setting available in the very fine region, but I believe this is a production issue and not a feature since this is not creating and scales at those positions. It also has a separate external power supply, if that is something that bothers you.Overall good quality and can recommend, wish the price was like 20-30$ lower based on my experience with it. but considering the other products in the market, it may be fine.
This grinder is excellent. It’s little work horse. Built like a tank and works very well. Very consistent and easy to use and clean. Excellent for a small space. I will say though that the power supply brick is like the same size as the unit. It’s awkwardly large so that might be a problem if you don’t have a good way to hide it. Even with that I would absolutely recommend it for a single dose need. It works great.
