I have been using this cold brew container for a little over 6 months now and I love it. I love that it’s easy to pop in the dishwasher, 100% leakproof, and durable. The only time I don’t have cold brew going is when we’re out of town. Only complaint would be I wish the mesh captured more fine particles, but switching to course ground coffee has helped.
It makes great iced coffee and takes little to no effort. It's easy to clean and easy to use.Someone else in the reviews suggested using hot water to start the seeping process, wait for it to get to room temperature and then throw in the refrigerator. So far, that is the BEST way to make a strong cup of iced coffee from this thing. 10/10 would recommend to a friend.
So my original review was bad. I stated that it brewed horribly and it made weak coffee. Well, I am now updating my review, and I will be giving this five stars, i am now extremely impressed with its functionality! The problem to begin with was on me, it was my fault. I explained in the video, but I know not everyone watches or listens to the videos. I was packing the filter, packing it tight. I thought that that was how I was supposed to do it, but that's not the case! You just put it in scoop by scoop, & maybe tap it to even it out every now and again. Once it's filled with your selected coffee, just cap it and you're good to go. But I advise filling it with hot water, the water that comes out of my tap is hot enough to use my French press. So I will let my water get hot and then I will fill this up. I will let it sit out until it cools. And by the time it cools, it's already halfway brewed. Then I put it in the fridge, i usually set it up between noon and 5 o'clock. When I set it up, how I just stated by 9 to 10 o'clock the next day as you can see in the video I have a nice dark cup of cold brew. I like my coffee like mud. I like it thick and strong. It needs to be extremely strong. That was my original problem. I couldn't get it to make a good cup of coffee! But now that I have figured it out, I am definitely impressed and I would definitely recommend this but I would also recommend that you shop around a little bit first because even though I love this I would have gotten a different one. 70 oz is what it claims to be. It's not 70 oz, it's more like 62oz. Which, in my opinion, should be false advertising? But what do I know? Point is, I definitely would not have picked this one if I had shopped around a little bit more, I just automatically went with amazon's best seller. That was my mistake and personally. I am disappointed that I didn't shop around, that's usually what I do. I want one, that's more like 80 oz. Because this one I finish in a morning and I have to set it up for the next day again, practically as soon as i start drinking lol so I definitely say it is worth the price. It definitely does work. But like I said, personally, I would have preferred something bigger. But if 60 oz of coffee is enough for you for a day, then look no further, because this is perfect for you.
Grounds stay sealed in the filter basket, you can actually shake and pour with no grounds in coffee. Great size and shape (fits nicely in refrigerator taking up little room). It is plastic so probably won't last forever but for the price, I will purchase another when the time comes.
When I first got this pitcher I couldn't detach the filter from the plastic top to fill it with coffee. Fortunately, the filter opens on the bottom for cleaning, so I filled it from there and put it in my fridge for a few days. When I took it out I was able to remove the filter from the plastic top quite easily and haven't had a problem since. There are 2 minor issues. The coffee grounds become hard as a rock, making cleaning difficult. I have to use a knife to carefully gouge out the grounds without damaging the mesh filter. I'm not sure if this is normal or unique to this pitcher. The second issue is the plastic filter top (not the part with the handle) is poorly designed and somewhat difficult to remove when done brewing. The clear plastic filter top is too short and slippery to grasp to remove the filter. Again, I use a knife to sort of gently pry it out to a point where I can grab it. Overall I consider it to be a good purchase. No leaks ever. I also purchased a regular pitcher separately so I can brew a new batch before I run out.
Love it! Lightweight, easy to clean, dishwasher safe, easy to pour coffee, stores a lot of cold brew but still fits in my refrigerator door shelf easily. I had a glass one prior to this that the lid broke the glass after opening it and closing it with the latch, and it was so heavy to pick up, so this was a great replacement.
