Close to being decent

These collapsible baskets are the perfect size for washing vegetables in my sink and I really like that they don’t eat up a lot of space. That being said, the plastic rims scratch easily and when I got them I noticed a bunch of plastic “lint” or manufacturing defects on the rims and covering the holes slightly. They’re good enough for what I need them for, but the full price of these would make me hesitate to recommend them wholeheartedly. I’ve gotten other collapsible baskets from Amazon that feel sturdier for less than $18.

I got this because counter space is at a premium in my apartment, and I'm really happy with how practical it turned out to be. When I need it, it pops open quickly and feels solid enough to hold a good amount of produce or dishes and it drains well. When I'm done, it folds down flat and tucks away in a cabinet drawer without taking up the room that a regular colander would.The material feels thick and sturdy, not flimsy like some collapsible kitchen stuff I've tried before. I was worried the edges might be weak, but they hold their shape well even when I'm rinsing heavier vegetables. The rim is reinforced enough that I can pour out water without it buckling on me.One thing I really appreciate is that the two pieces separate easily. I was expecting them to stick together when wet, but there's a small gap that keeps them from suctioning, so I can pull them apart without any wrestling. It unfolds and collapses smoothly every time.It's become one of those tools I reach for more often than I thought I would. If you're short on space or just want something versatile that actually works, this is a solid choice.

This colander has a great trick as it can collapse to a small size. Not only do you get a colander, it has a basin that the colander can nest in. The colander can strain approximately a gallon of water from the basin. Both the colander and basin can collapse together - it’s super easy to compress for easy, space-efficient storage. Unlike other collapsible gadgets, this colander is very sturdy and won’t collapse accidentally. The color combo is great - a vibrant mint-colored plastic with white silicone flexible parts. I would definitely recommend this for any kitchens that are at a premium for space.
