Cooktop failed to work right out of the box. Thank God for Amazon.
I used induction cooktops for five years with great success. It was time for a larger one with more power so I bought this 3500-watt 220 v top whose timely arrival was disappointing indeed. I had a 220 240 plug near my stove suitable for this top, but when I plugged it in the breaker tripped and a thud like sound came from the cooktop. My first thought was there some fault in the wiring or the outlet or the breaker. One electrician and $150 later, the electrician found nothing wrong with my circuit. This left the cooktop at fault. To check, I borrowed a 220v appliance from a friend to test the outlet. It worked perfectly. So, I called Amazon. They reimbursed me for the cooktop, which I returned, and the $150 I paid the electrician. I then bought the Abangdon 3500-watt cooktop which arrived the next day and worked perfectly out of the box. Great purchase!Well, it seems Amazon reneged on their promise to compensate me for the cost of the electrician. It took them 35 minute to tell me they refuse to pay. There was no way for me to determine that this piece of junk didn't work without an electrician to test the 220v line. This is no way to treat a customer who spends $10-15,000 a year on Amazon products. Buyer Beware!
