These are a great size for self blended spices and loose teas. Nice quality with pretty wooden lids that have silicone around edge for a tight fit. Love the organization and functionality these offer.
These glass spice jars are amazing! They look beautiful on my kitchen shelf and keep all my spices fresh and well organized. Gorgeous, large. Make sure you have room. These are not your average spice jars! Love how my spices & herbs are now at hands for use at my stove with the right shelving. The silicone seals were what I needed here in the humid south. Getting them on sale, bonus!
I ordered the sample set to play around with my spices and decide what is going to work best for me. The spice jars are aesthetically pleasing, and a great way to organize your spices. If you are like me, you have so, so many herbs and spices to organize. The tricky part with ordering spice jars is that the capacity measurement in ounces does not account for volume differences. As expected, I found that the 10 oz. jar perfectly accommodated a six-ounce bag of Hungarian paprika, and the 8-ounce fit 4-ounces of Ancho Chili powder with a little room to spare, but seeds and pods and loose herbs needed more experimentation. The jars are made of borosilicate glass, which is stronger and more durable than regular glass, but they can crack or shatter if dropped, so I do handle them with care. I am pretty confident that these bottles will do fine in my kitchen because I have used their 20- ounce set of glass canisters for a couple of years without any incident. (I use those for larger quantities of seeds and pods.) I think the seal on these jars is pretty good, and if you keep your spices in a cabinet away from light, I think your spices should keep very well. I have had good results with the 20-ounce jars which have a similar seal on the lid. Overall, I am happy with my purchase and ordered a set of 8-ounce jars.
I bought the 8oz version after realizing the 4oz would be too small. I'm glad I did; these containers fit most of our dry spices.Pros:- Nice looking containers that fit perfectly in our short kitchen drawers when laid sideways.- I appreciate the diverse labels that came with the set.- The glass containers are a significant upgrade from the plastic bags our spices originally came in.Cons:- The lids are inconsistent; some are tight, while others are loose.- After washing them in the dishwasher, the lids felt very coarse, suggesting they might need a coat of oil.- Interestingly, I received one container with a sticker labeling a crack (see photo), but I decided to keep the set anyway to avoid the hassle of returning it.
These jars are great for my loose teas. Nice looking too, thats a bonus.
