This is great for boiling eggs. You put the water in, less water if you want soft boiled, more water if you want hard boiled, container for water is provided. You prick the top of the egg with the instrument provided, put the lid on and plug it in. It cuts itself off when done. Once done, I put the eggs in a bowl of cold water for about 30 minutes, then peel the eggs. Eggs are perfect, you can make deviled eggs or just eat a great boiled egg. Helps me to keep boiled eggs ready to eat in the refrigerator at all times. Great protein snack!! No noise, easy to clean, works well. Small, easy to store away or attractive to sit on the counter, great value.

Bottom Line: It works just like they claim it does
I’m an experienced chef and pretty old-school, so I most often need to hard boil more than six (6) eggs at a time. But for 1 to 6 eggs at a time, this egg steamer works very well. But, note the following:- Older eggs will peel easier than freshly bought eggs.- Eggs that come out of this steamer should be immediately immersed in ice-water to loosen the shells, and they all should be peeled immediately, even if they’re to be eaten later.- The minerals in the water you use will remain on the unit and have to be cleaned off with vinegar periodically. Using distilled water will minimize the residue, if that’s important to you.- The unit does not have rubber feet so it can slide easily on a countertop. Bumping the cord could knock it off the table. I recommend setting the unit on a silicone mat.- The duration of steaming is driven by evaporation, not by an electric timer, so trust the water volume ratio to number of eggs—their chart is accurate and matches my experience.- The quality of the finished eggs, their flavor and consistency, were all satisfactory—no complaints.So, for its ease of use, efficiency, and price point, this is a trustworthy product.
