This works great!

This thing works great! I wasn't sure how well it would work but I am pleasantly surprised. I have used it twice now - once on a small pot of macaroni noodles and once on a larger pot of spaghetti noodles. It worked well on both sizes. It fits very snuggly and I was not worried about it coming off while pouring out the excess water. I highly recommend this!

Good replacement for a regular colander/strainer

I’d wondered if these were a good replacement for a full-size colander for a while, so I finally ordered one. Good news—it handles most of what a colander would!I’m impressed with the quality. It’s made of sturdy silicone. They’ve also thought about things like beveling the inside lip and not using spring-loaded clips, which have often rusted on me.The holes are big enough to keep beans (all but the smallest) from falling out, but not something like rice. It’s perfect for draining pasta or even ground beef. The silicone material is nice because it’s more heat-resistant than plastic but doesn’t rust like metal. It also sits pretty securely in a variety of pan sizes, from a small saucepan (maybe 32 oz) to a 12” frying pan, both with turned-out lips and without. It works better, of course, when it blocks more of the opening than not (for instance, when draining 1.5 lbs of ground beef that was cooked in the 12” frying pan, I got most of the grease out, but I also lost a few pieces of meat, even though I was trying to keep it all in.The best part is that it doesn’t take up a bunch of room like a larger colander does. This is not only small, but it’s foldable, so it can be tucked away inside a small saucepan if I’m really short on space.
