Holds all my knives, scissors & sharpening tool.
I love, love, love this knife block!!!The original knife block I had was ruined in a flood. Next option available was made with lots of fibers - not slots. Worked ok but was continually have to reinsert the knives as they would move around, it would become evenly loaded & would tip over.After using this for a number of years I was tired of trying to put my knives securely & protected. I was a yearning from the days of a great knife holder.This knive block is super!! It holds all my kitchen knives, steak knives, sharpener & kitchen scissors. It’s beautiful too!!The block is dark in color & blends in easily on the counter. My biggest issue is I forget my scissors are no longer in the drawer next to the sink but stored in my beautiful wood block.I keep hoping my brain will quickly learn where I now keep the scissors & quit opening the drawer looking for them 😂😂😂.If you’re looking for a great knife block this is it!!!It’s sturdy, doesn’t tip over because the knife slots are well placed & balanced. I’m just sorry I didn’t get the earlier.My frustrations with trying to put knives in the other block so it remained balanced & my knives were protected kept growing.I didn’t realize I could get this beautiful knife block that holds all my knives, sharpening steel & scissors. It’s a joy to have & a beautiful addition to my kitchen.

Compact, sturdy, holds most types of knives.
I had initially bought another brand knife block, which has the swivel configuration. As initially, I had a hard time deciding between this brand (pet-peeve at the time, this block wasn't the same name as the knives I intended to use is for,) as the other brand has same name/logo as the knives, I was planning to use the block for. Long story short, initially I ordered the other brand, however, once I saw how overwhelmingly large/tall the block was, as well as the space between knives of the other brand being too close, added to that, the hight the swivel (which wasn't an important addition for me,) added, and hence made the block feel like it can tip over. Moreover I disliked the setup of the steak knives configuration on the other brand, which was horizontally, making it not only look wired, but also not ideal arrangement ergonomically. And last but not least the other brand didn't have the darker wood option.So once I had seen the other brand in person, decided to return the same brand as my Knives block and to buy this brand. Needless to say, I was much more pleased with this block. I like the dark color of the wood. I like the compact design of the block, for the amount of knives it holds, it is not overwhelming to the eye (the other block made it seem and look like, there was way too many knives.) Like the sturdiness of the design, as it will not tip over easily. Loved that there was reasonable spacing between knives, and definitely as for the space for the steak knives, I preferred the vertical configuration of this brand. Moreover, the price was reasonable, compared to the other brand.What I disliked, but not a deal breaker the wood finish of the knives slot could be more smooth, and even though I was able to fit a small cleaver knife, It was too small for the larger cleaver knife. I wish there was additional spot for the large cleaver knife.Over all I am happy with this purchase.

Keeps all the knives organized, my wife loves it!

Very nice knife block.
The succeeded my expectations. I bought it because I had the spaces I needed, and the steak knives along the bottom row was big enough to hold my oversized steak knives. I do wish that the cleaver spot was at the top instead of the middle. But a parent wise, it is nicer than the photos. I do collect Chef's knives, so I wonder why no one doesn't make some of these 1.75 in holes of full 2 in. But this one has more large slots than most. That's why I got it. This is the best I've been able to find.

Good choice if you have lots of knives
I bought this because the color was right for my new kitchen and it holds TONS of knives. It is a nice hard wood and beautifully finished. It is big! Make sure you check the measurements to judge how it will look in your kitchen as it can loom, rather. My only caveat is that it doesn’t have bespoke kitchen scissors slots. 2 slots work kind of ok, but clumsily…which is not a consideration if you keep your kitchen scissors elsewhere. But it would be SO handy just to have them right there available with your knives.
