They’re practical, durable, and decorative at the same time. For the price, these are an excellent value, they look far more expensive than they are. I’ve gotten several compliments already and would absolutely buy them again or give them as a gift!
These are stunning!!!! Just received them and they are on my counter, filled and looking so pretty! Plus the little spoon is the perfect touch! Nice, durable, heavy and even has little things on the bottom so your counter won’t get scratched!! A must buy!!!!
These are nice. They have some weight to them and the size is perfect to grab that pinch of salt or pepper when you are cooking. They are so classy looking.
When I was first in the market for salt cellars, I looked at one from Crate + Barrel, which was white marble plus a mango wood lid, for $30. I was so thoroughly unimpressed with it in person compared to the online images. The lid was finished cheaply, and there were no feet on the bottom to protect kitchen counters. The cellar should cost at least half of what Crate + Barrel is charging.That misadventure brought me here. These cellars are exactly as pictured and finished beautifully. The size of the opening is perfect for reaching your hand in to pinch on the fly while cooking. Little pads on the bottom protect your counters. The quality far exceeds Crate + Barrel, as well as the value. The little spoons are also a nice touch. I'm very pleased and impressed. When my mom saw them, she asked where I got them from and intends to order them, too!P.S. We washed the cellars, lids, and spoons before first use. I'd definitely recommend that for the marble just in case there's any powder from the production process, though we didn't notice any. We also applied food-grade mineral oil to the lids and spoons once they were thoroughly dry, because they looked a little thirsty. Now that they're hydrated, the lids are richer in color and glossier. Not quality issues, just some care tips that are universal for marble and unlacquered wood products in the kitchen.P.P.S. I see multiple reviews wishing these cellars were airtight. Salt cellars never are. That isn't necessary for their intended use of holding regularly accessed spices like salt and pepper at the dinner table or while cooking; it would inhibit convenience/one-handed use; and it would totally change the materials used/the design.
Very impressed with the quality and looks. The tiny wooden spoons are perfect and add to the overall usefulness. The size is perfect—easy to hold in one hand but holds more than enough salt and pepper for weeks. Highly recommended!
Great condition. I do not see any cracks in the wood or marble. Very smooth surfaces, and lids sit firmly but not tight, so easy one-handed opening. The little spoons are a nice addition. Cleaning instructions included. They look great on my counter.
I wanted the darker wood lids shown in the photo and mine arrived with very light, bleached out looking lids. not attractive. they will be useful but appearance to have on counter is important to me.
