I thought, how could it be any faster than a flat knife, will a little practice you can be peeling corn like a chef. The blade is curved to fit around more of the corn than a flat knife. It’s not an exact fit because all corn is different sizes. It works pretty well and is sharp on the cutting end. It does not come with a permanent protective cover but is shipped with a piece cardboard around it. I would like a cover for it when put in a drawer for storage. It’s well made and solid, as much as a utensil can be. I like the idea and will continue to use it. I would purchase it again.It looks good with a stainless or brushed nickel look. It cleans easily with only a couple wipes and some dish soap. This unique tool should last a long time. They included two peelers in the set.I rate this as above average with 4 stars and probably would have given it 5 stars if it had included a protective cover for the sharp end.

Does a nice job of removing corn kernels

I have been using the old style corn stripping tool and recently tried this one and really like the way it cuts. It is so easy to clean. It is great for uncooked corn but it’s hard to hold hot fresh boiled ears so I also ordered the set that comes with the corn holder made by the same company. Either set is well worth it. They are very reasonably priced. It is very quick to use. There is no reason for it to break as it is made very well and is made of stainless steel.

Nice corn peelers.

These do the job well and are pretty well made and rigid without a lot of flex in them. They are pretty sharp, so they go through without too much effort. Just make sure to keep your hands out of the way because the edge has a bit of sharpness to it. Not really really sharp, but if you pushed it across your hand, you might get a minor cut. Pretty safe overall though if you mind what you're doing. Easy to use, well made and a good value for the price.
