They seem to be working fine; nothing really to compare them to. Easy to clean, hand wash with a drop of detergent; rinse well and re-use. Nothing special about the bands; they’re just plain rubber bands.
These are really nicely made. Stitched all the way around so they don't unravel. I use them to cover my sourdough starter. I highly recommend!
I wish I would have bought these earlier in my kombucha journey. These are perfectly-fit for a standard gallon jar, and do the ultimate job of providing a bug-proof yet breathable cover. They're washable and durable... if you have been jury-rigging your covers out of a handtowel and wrong-sized elastic, this set is the solution to that frustration.
These work perfectly for my jars of sourdough starter.

I've been making booch for almost 7 years and have never had a batch mold. I've always used paper towels for the cover, but decided to try this fabric a couple months ago and regret it. I believe it is too loose of a weave, and doesn't do a good enough job of filtering out the bad stuff. Use at your own risk.
