These little towels are great. They are so soft and just the right weight to keep at your fingertips while working in the kitchen. I bought them on impulse because I liked the bright red color and 'vintage' look. They are quick drying too, because they are somewhat thin, but they make up for it with their softness.
I got these towels and the first thing I did was wash them. After the first wash they weren’t terribly absorbent (I made the cardinal sin, I washed with downy). After smearing water around on my counter unsuccessfully absorbing it I was frustrated took the whole folded stack and threw them back in the washer, washed on my hottest cycle and dried (no downy, no dryer sheets).Now they are absorbent and just perfect! Well, not perfectly perfect (none of them are cut quite square) but that doesn’t matter to me because these aren’t show pieces they are work horses.As for the person with the review with all their towels wrinkled!?!? I don’t know what they did to have that happen, mine came out of the dryer perfectly both times. Odd.They feel very similar to my old towels and I have no doubt they’re going to hold up just fine.The first pics are pre-wash, the last pic is after second wash.
Not very absorbing, but great color and durable.
These towels are a little thinner than I’m used to, but they are soft and surprisingly very absorbent! In fact they’re more absorbent than thicker more expensive towels I had before! Great price, great colors and great value!
Love. Love. Love! The color (yellow) is vibrant and the quality is great. Size was standard - as expected. Became a bit softer and more absorbent after 1st wash (used one to dry a countertop to try it out before washing). No noticeable shrinkage. Will buy again and try other colors.
I love the look of these towels but they are not heavy enough for hand drying. I prefer a heavier weight for that. These are better used for baking and using with sour dough proofing. Nice and thin.
Are these towels thin? Yes. But if that's what you're looking for, then these are perfect. I can't explain why, but I don't like a thick or fluffy towel in the kitchen. So naturally, no, they're not going to be super absorbent, but will still their job. The colors are vibrant, and remain so after washing. They feel well made, like they could take some abuse. And the little hanging loop in the corner is convenient. I would purchase again!
