Great Design and Size

This ice scoop is just the right size for most casual drinks at residential parties/gatherings. It is VERY well made, heavy and can be "slammed" into ice with no damage to it.You will really like the drain holes. This sounds like a minor thing, but once you start using your new scoop you will see how practical those drain holes are as they help drain away water/melted ice from the ice you are going to put into your drink(s).The scoop is dishwasher safe, but I would recommend that you put it on the TOP shelf of the dishwasher and remove it as soon as your washing load it done. Believe me, stainless steel DOES RUST depending on the quality/type of stainless that was used in manufacturing a particular item. So, don't leave the scoop exposed to moisture any longer than necessary. When you are done using it, hand dry it off and then store it for later use. You will get years of use out of this scoop!

This is one handsome ice scoop! Very heavy and well made.I ended up very reluctantly returning mine as it was too big for my ice bucket and I was worried about the metal scratching the inside of my Corkcicle bucket which has a matte silver finish.Ended up purchasing a black matte plastic one which fit the criteria I had, and I’mquite pleased with it, but I admit was a bit sad sending this one back as it is is a pleasure to hold due to the heft of it and it’s so well made it will last a number of lifetimes!

I use it to scoop aquarium gravel

Non standard use. I have a bunch of aquariums and sometimes I need to scoop out the gravel in the tanks for one reason or another.This helps a TON to scoop out manageable amounts of gravel and drain the water out prior to putting that gravel into a bucket or something. A real lifesaver when it comes to the skin of my hands (previously I would just use my hands to scoop out the gravel, and my nails and skin would get all abraided from it)I’m sure it scoops ice just fine... but for my purposes it’s more than perfect!
