Well made, beautiful to look at, keeps your tea warm for hours if you are a teapot user

There's no better way to drink tea than brewed in a traditional teapot, with a removable strainer, and once you get into the habit, it becomes addictive; it's lighter and less acidic than coffee (unless you go for strong black tea, in which case, add creamer to neutralize it a bit) and there's such a variety of teas to choose from. Tea is also very nutritious and full of antioxidants, especially green tea. The problem is simply that the tea pot cools off rapidly!Enter this tea warmer. When I prepare a pot of tea on a winter's day, I light an inexpensive little round candle (a 20-pack costs a dollar or two at the discount store) and it will burn for hours, keeping the pot just warm enough. No need to zap your mug in the microwave (or, as I sometimes do, pour the tea into a Pyrex and zap it in the microwave then pour it back into the teapot :)You have to use a teapot to make this thing worthwhile, though. Theoretically I suppose you could put a ceramic mug on it, but it's really designed for a pot.No cleaning needed, just fish out the candle and replace it when ready for a fresh pot, and honestly there's not much else to say. The metallic construction is solid and rugged, and after a year or so of use it's still holding up, so I'm very satisfied.

it keeps coffee plenty warm, and even warms a mug of cold water

Ive used it, and it works. It is nicer than expected. The light effect is there, but the area needs to be on the darker side, and need more room around it to see it since it reaches far. Its pretty.I have very successfully kept a mug of hot coffee hot/warm, and I have taken a mug filled half way with cold tap water and successfully turned it into a very warm mug of water. That is impressive! So I will be using this for emergency use too.. say if I had no power and wanted to warm up a can of soup. I can use one or more tealights and put a sauce pan on top.Measurements are accurate as shown in the product pictures.
