Great for glass top stove.

This is really a great wok for my purposes. I decided to go with cast iron as it heats better on my glass top stove. This even came with a very nice glass lid at a price which was extremely reasonable considering the high quality.The texture of the cast was quite rough when I got it. I was actually worried it would be too rough and food would stick. I seasoned it five times prior to using it. It was so rough that the first two times the paper towel I used to wipe it with oil was actually shredding. That ended after the third seasoning and got better each time. By the time I ran it through the fifth cycle that roughness had really held the seasoning well and NOTHING has stuck to this pan while I have cooked with it.Degrease it well when you get it and take the time to season it properly. Don’t skimp on these steps and you should be very pleased with how well this works for you.

Excellent cast iron wok that comes with accessories that make the set an excellent value.

This is a high-quality cast-iron wok set that includes silicone hot-handle holders and a vented glass lid. I love everything about this set, especially its price. The set as whole is an excellent value. The 14-inch wok is the perfect size for my range, and it quickly became my primary cooking utensil, supplanting all of my other cast iron and non-stick skillets. I highly recommend this wok set. I must also point out Crucible Cookware's excellent customer service. The plastic knob on the glass lid arrived cracked and Crucible did not have a replacement knob that they could send me; so, they purchased a replacement knob on Amazon and had it shipped directly to me! After well seasoning, it cooks magically!

I love this wok. The reasons I gave a 4 star is because it does not heat as fast as I expected but it does heat evenly. It said it's preseasoned but doesn't appear to be well seasoned. So I followed the instructions I found online to season it myself. It turned out great! It cooks better than the all of the nonstick cookwares I ever used. Food came out great with no sticking. There are certain foods that stick no matter what cookware you use. In those cases, just use the case iron cleaner, usually costs about $8. It will clean the mass easily. I will not go back to nonstick cookware again. Cast Iron is much more durable and healthy option.

Best investment!

This is one of the coolest kitchen items you could ever have! There’s so much that you can cook with it!It’s a good size and quick to heat up. My husband sanded it a little bit to smooth out the inside- we seasoned it with grape seed oil and it has been amazing! We love to make stir fry with this because it makes the food taste so good. Even heating and easy to use.

Not just for fried rice!

I love this wok! I use it severl times a week. I had bought a cheap wok at the grocery store and really enjoyed using it but the quality wasn't up to my standard so I upgraded to this amazing cast iron wok. I cook everything from Asian food as expected to pork chops to sautéing steak, bell pepper and onions for Philly cheese steak sandwichs in this wok. I cook for a family of 6 daily this wok makes that a breeze due to its generous size. It's a good quality cast iron with a good basic pre-season on it however I recommend doing your own seasoning on it. I love the glass lid so you can see what your cooking. The silicone handles leave a lot to be desired. They only slide over the end so you can still burn your hands on the sides but I didn't buy this wok for the silicone handels. My daughter was very anemic. After I started cooking with this wok on a regular basis she is no longer anemic. I would recommend this wok to everyone weather you cook Asian food at home or not.
