    Much improved over the old fondue pots

    The great thing about this electric fondue set is that you can do everything right in the pan, using the base as your heating source. With the fondue pots we had growing up, you had to melt everything on the stove, and then put the pot on a wire stand with an open flame underneath to keep things warm. It was so dangerous!This pot is much better, because the control dial lets you control the heat electronically. You can start and finish the fondue - even hot fondues like oil and meat - on the hot plate base, and then turn the heat down to keep the cheese or chocolate melted without burning it.The pot itself is pretty easy to clean, and it's a nice set that serves 8 people. It's perfect.

    Doesn't Fight the Dip

    I love the nice clean look of this set and the color coded prongs are a nice touch to help people keep their utensils when you are sharing a pot across a few guests. I like the splash guard that has places to sit the forks so the handles don’t slip into the pot and it keeps them handy in between dips. It gets hot pretty quickly and works well for fondue prep. It is fun to use, and works well as intended for fondue for groups (it is plenty large enough for sharing). That said, I feel like there are several features I kept expecting that were missing from the set. The temperature setting indicator blends into the front knob - making it hard to easily know how high it is set. The temperature range of the set is also hard to gauge, with the blue light-up ring that indicated the plate had cycled on or off generally sitting off unless you had the settings almost all the way up. There is also not a “hot” indicator - so when in a “cycled off” moment you may not realize it is on or hot to the touch. Lastly - the entire set is handwash, which makes clean up a bit more of a clean up. Price-wise, it seemed like a nice value for a basic fondue set-up. All in all - it is pretty and it does the job of keeping your fondue hot.
