Very Nice Cake / Dessert Tray with Clear Acrylic Cover - Great Buy at a Great Price
I bought this covered cake / dessert tray after I made my Wife a 2 layer Spice Cake but didn't have anything that could hold or preserve her treats. I was skeptical with reviews complaining about the Acrylic cover easily breaking or coming broken when being shipped but that was not the case at all. This came very well packed and protected and only minor installation was required to secure the round wooden top to the bottom swivel base which require a phillips screw driver and about 2 minutes - very simple. I gently hand washed the acrylic dome / plastic material cover with luke warm water and dawn dish detergent and a soft wash cloth, and the top of the wooden surface of the tray and no issues with scratching or cracks in the plastic material - it was crystal clear. I really like that it easily held the 2 level cake that I made for my Wife and helped keep it from getting stale too quickly. Given the "lazy-suzanne" style turning of the base or tray, this is very versatile if you want to decorate a cake on it as you can easily turn the cake around to any degree that you need. Thanks to the Acrylic / Plastic dome cover, the only weight to this cake tray is the wooden base which still is very light weaigth and easy to managage. Cleaning is very easy and the plastic material used for the cover should last as long as you hand wash it with a mild dish detergent and a soft cloth and either air dry it or wipe it with a soft cloth drying towel. If you put the cover into the dishwasher, over time it will become brittle from the heat and may crack at some point. For the price, the designe, the weight and functionality - I highly recommend this cake / dessert tray with cover.
