Be careful! Dangerous

I didn’t know if I really needed this knife but to my surprise I can’t live without it. Best bread slicer ever. Much smoother and easier. But I must warn you. In one day of being careful I have just about lost two fingers. One while slicing the bread and the 2nd while washing it. I mean you are sliced open from the slightest touch. So be more than careful. If it gets me one more time I’m done with it. I rather have rugged bread and keep my fingers.

Outstanding Value and Performance for an Everyday Bread Knife!

I've been baking at home for years, and the Cutluxe 10" Serrated Bread Knife has quickly become my go-to tool in the kitchen. As someone who slices through crusty loaves daily, I can confidently say this knife delivers effortless, clean cuts every time, no more squished bread or excessive crumbs on the counter!Quality: The razor-sharp stainless steel blade is forged from high-carbon steel, which feels premium and holds its edge remarkably well. I've used it for months without needing to sharpen it, and the full-tang construction gives it a solid, durable build that doesn't feel cheap. The included protective cover is a nice touch for storage, keeping the blade safe and preventing accidents.Functionality: This knife excels at what it's designed for, slicing sourdough, baguettes, or even softer breads like brioche without tearing or compressing the interior. The serrated edge bites into tough crusts smoothly, and the 10-inch length is perfect for larger loaves. It's also versatile for other tasks, like cutting cakes or melons. The ergonomic anti-slip handle provides excellent control, even during longer sessions, and it's comfortable for both right- and left-handed users.Value for Money: This is an incredible deal. It punches way above its price point, offering performance that rivals more expensive brands without the hefty cost.Compared to similar products, I'd rate this a solid 5 stars, edging out budget options like the Mercer Culinary Millennia (which is great but has a less comfortable plastic handle and sometimes feels bulkier). It's not quite at the level of ultra-premium knives like the Shun Classic (over $150, overkill for most home cooks), but for everyday use, the Cutluxe offers better bang for your buck than no-name brands that dull quickly or lack balance. If you're looking for a reliable, high-performing bread knife without breaking the bank, this is it! Highly recommend.

Durable Blade, Best For Hard Crust Bread

The blade on this knife is durable and easy to clean. The handle is comfortable, making it easy to control while slicing bread. It did best with our hard crust bread. It tends to shred softer loafs so I wouldn't recommend it for those. The length makes it great for larger loafs and sourdough rounds. It doesn't feel flimsy when using either and the blade didn't bend.Overall, it's a good quality knife for anyone on a budget. The blade is sharp and solid and the handle is decent. Good value for the price. If you're looking for professional quality however, I would suggest looking elsewhere.

Sharp bread knife, bad handle

I tested this knife on a couple of loaves I baked this morning against my usual bread knife. It was much sharper and cut through the bread smoothly with no tearing. My old knife wasn't nearly as good at cutting any more.I hadn't realized how dull my old knife had become before testing it against this one.But knives can be sharpened, and that's what I'll do with my old bread knife, which will make it as good as new. What sets it apart from this Cutluxe knife is that the metal on my old one goes all the way down through the handle, which is riveted in place. So as as I sharpen it, it should last indefinitely. Not so with the Cutluxe Serrated Bread Knife, which has a handle that is almost identical to the one of a knife I got at the dollar store. It's hard plastic, molded around the end of the knife's metal end, and there's no way to tell how much metal is actually under it. Probably not much.Making knives this way is probably a lot cheaper for the manufacturer but the buyer ends up with an inferior product that lacks the sturdiness of a traditionally made knife. Personally, I'm tired of the way manufacturers constantly look for ways to cut corners in order to maximize profit. I'm tired of disposable products, whether they fail in a year or 5 years, when earlier products like them could last a lifetime. How much are they really saving or adding to their bottom lines at the expense of the end user?Give me a well-made product, using good manufacturing processes, that's meant to last—and add whatever few pennies it costs to the price tag so I don't have to replace it prematurely when it falls apart.

Doesn't look impressive, but does a great job for the price

The bread knife I've had forever is a heavy, thickly serrated knife that I cut bagels with holding them in my hand. It hacks away, crumbs everywhere, but it's safe. This knife is not that. It slices through a bagel with ease, and leaves no crumbs behind. It's lightweight, but don't let that fool you - it's still a solid knife. The blade isn't as serrated as some bread knives so at first glance it might not look like a good bread knife, but that actually works to its advantage. The limited serration still grips the bread, but doesn't rip it apart, so you don't get the crumbs. Its size is similar to other bread knives that I've seen, so no big surprises there. Honestly, its plastic handle and plastic sheath give it the look of a cheaper knife, but if you want something that works instead of trying to impress the neighbors, this is a great option.
