Surpassed my expectations!

I've been wanting to add a cleaver to my kitchen tools for a long time. After impulse buying a used low end cleaver with a damaged blade I was happy to find this hybrid cleaver/chefs knife option. I added it to my cart from my "wish list" when its already low price dropped in advance of Black Friday. I received it quickly - in time for Thanksgiving prep on Wednesday. Wow! It's beautifully and carefully packaged. I especially appreciated the packaging care because It's really sharp! It was a pleasure chopping 12 pounds of root vegetables and crushing 4 heads of garlic with its sharp and yet broad blade. I treated the knife with care because it's so much sharper than the chefs knife I've used for 40 years. The full tang design seems like one that will last me a lifetime. A small detail that caused me to choose the hybrid knife over the traditional cleaver is the hole near the top of its blade. I really wanted to like this knife…

And boy did I. I bought it to spatchcock our Thanksgiving turkey hoping the blade would eat through the bones. It did it with ease. Then it finely chopped veggies without having to touch upThe edge. I have large hands and the handle fits wonderfully. The weight to the knife helped get through the turkey back quickly and efficiently.I had my eye on a similar knife from a company that advertises like it’s going out of style. And for less money, I got 2 knives and a honing steel from Cutluxe, and they’re American made.

Awesome knife

I have 3 cutluxe knives now. This one is great for all jobs. Blade has held up well to cutting vegetables and meat. I will need to hone soon as I have butchered 2 prime rib roasts and 2 pork butts. The handle is comfortable. The overall weight is good. It is not flimsy. It is balanced when cutting. I will keep purchasing these knives.
