Exceptional Performance and Craftsmanship — A True Upgrade for Serious Cooks
Wow! This Ravenstone 3-piece knife set exceeded my expectations in both in performance and design. Each blade serves a distinct purpose. The 12” slicer handles brisket and roasts effortlessly, the 6” fillet knife glides through fish with surgical precision, and the Black Venator brings serious power to tougher cuts. Together, they cover every task from delicate prep work to heavy-duty breakdowns. I'm in awe!The blade quality is outstanding. The steel on the slicer and fillet knives holds a razor-sharp edge, and the black Titanium Nitride coating adds impressive durability and corrosion resistance. Each knife has a clean, controlled cut that feels professional-grade. The Venator’s thicker spine and grip-hole design adds excellent balance and leverage for more demanding jobs. The handles are not just beautiful, they are solid, comfortable, and perfectly contoured to the hand. The stabilized wood and resin mix gives a truly unique look while staying strong and secure during use.I also appreciate the thoughtful extras. Each knife comes with a fitted sheath, making them safe to store and travel with. The sheath is about a ¼" thick and made of leather so you won't damage the blade or cut yourself reaching into the drawer for it. The knives are backed by Dalstrong’s lifetime warranty and 70-day money-back guarantee, showing that they stand behind their product, which just adds even more confidence. If you value performance, versatility, and craftsmanship, this set is absolutely worth the investment. A stunning combination of form and function that any serious chef, pitmaster, or outdoorsman will appreciate.

Stunning set that performs as good as it looks
I decided to treat myself to this Valhalla set after eyeing it for a while, and I am genuinely impressed by the quality. The presentation right out of the box is incredible, but these aren't just for show—the sharpness is terrifyingly good. The slicer glides through brisket like butter, and the fillet knife has the perfect amount of flex for delicate work. I was actually surprised by how comfortable the resin and wood handles feel; they have a solid weight and grip that gives you a lot of confidence when cutting, even with the larger blades. The included leather sheaths are also a major plus, keeping them safe and sharp without needing a bulky block. If you want a set that acts as a conversation piece but still holds up to serious cooking, this is a fantastic choice.

They Have Their Place
These are certainly unique knives and stand out for sure. In the kitchen, they scream out: "Look at me! Use me! Love me!" Maybe to a fault. The longest of these is a slicer and excellent for portioning out very large cuts of meat like brisket, porterhouse, or a rack of beef ribs. It slices through cleanly and with very little effort, keeping most of the precious juices INSIDE the meat and off the cutting board. The smallest of the 3 is an excellent utility knife, good for fruits and vegetables. It's still extremely sharp though so you want to use it for things that require an excellent blade like preventing squishing when slicing tomatoes or minimizing tears when cutting onions. The middle blade is the powerhouse of the 3. It's really for cutting in and around bones or slicing into harder things like cacti or almonds. The finger hole is particularly useful in moments that require a sure grip to prevent serious injury.I haven't used the blades for very long so I can't attest to their long term durability or edge retention. But so far (2 weeks in), they're as sharp as day 1.

In a word: Stunning
Without a doubt, these Dalstrong Valahala series knives are the most impressive I've ever owned. Opening a set of knives is not usually an event, but the unboxing of these knives rivals an Apple product. The box, which comes in a protective sleeve, is large and boldly colored. Upon opening, you are greeted with three large knives in beautiful sheaths, a thick instruction/educational book, a couple stickers and a combination lion's head pin/magnet. When you grip the handle of one knife and pull it out of the foam padding, you can instantly see and feel the quality. And when you slide the work of art from the sheath, you can't help but mutter "wow" to yourself. The blades are absolutely stunning and more importantly, they slice even better than they look. According to the included book, which is hard to read because the white font is extremely small on a black background, the blades are ground at an angle of 8-12 degrees. I'm not a knife expert, but I think that's finer than typical knives. I have one of those roller knife sharpeners that holds blades at one of five angles for sharpening and the smallest angle is 12 degrees. These Dalstrongs cut with the slightest effort and are a joy to use, but also scary because they are literally razor sharp. I have one of those gloves that prevents knife cuts but I've never used it. I do with these Dalstrongs. I find myself staring at the edges because they look so perfect. Is the cost justified? I believe so. My dad invested in Cutco knives decades ago because they have a lifetime warranty and he's still using them. These Dalstrongs are much more impressive looking (I can't say they perform better because I don't have Cutco) and they also have a lifetime warranty (as well as a 70 day money-back guarantee). After I'm long gone, I'm sure my kids will still be enjoying these knives. I now want all my kitchen knives (and some gadgets) to be Dalstrong.
