A work of art that performs! And their customer service is phenomenal

These knives are absolutely stunning—almost too beautiful to use. Each one feels like a work of art, and as someone who spends a lot of time working with wood, I really appreciate the craftsmanship in the handles. The combination of natural wood grain and swirling gray-black epoxy is gorgeous, and no two handles are exactly the same. The finish on the blades is equally impressive—it’s not the usual polished silver, and it’s not the matte black you see on coated blades either. It has a sleek, black-chrome look that’s unique and eye-catching.Performance has been just as impressive. With one exception, every knife came razor sharp and glided through cuts effortlessly. The 6" chef’s knife had a chip and felt noticeably duller, but Dalstrong’s customer service made the difference. I reached out, and within an hour I had a response confirming they’d be sending me a replacement. That level of support makes me confident in the investment. Before this set, I had a Dalstrong paring knife and I use it almost daily for about 6 months, and I still haven't needed to sharpen or hone it. So I am confident in Dalstrong's steel. The knifes had a good weight in hand without being overly heavy or too light - they strike a good balance. I also think they did a really good job with the selection of knives for this set. I've been looking for a set and most sets I like a few of the knives, but the rest make it a waste to spend that much on a set. But if I were to put together a set for myself, it probably would have been this!The block itself adds to the overall statement of the set. I like how the knives rest in a more horizontal orientation compared to the typical upright style. It gives it a modern, stylish feel, especially with the metal base support, epoxy inlay, and the shiny logo at the back. It looks just as good on the counter as the knives do in hand.Yes, this is a pricey set—but it feels like an heirloom piece that’s built to perform and impress for years to come. If you’re looking for something that combines functionality with artistry, this is it.

Fierce looking...

Hardened, fierce-looking knives in a massive chunk of wood. These are beautifully made and feels great in your hand. The unusual handle gives a decent amount of grip. They're quite an eyeful on the kitchen counter. They have good edges and balance. I would have preferred a skinny paring knife over a bread knife.
