Well made, beautiful, functional, but pricy.
I love Dalstrong knives. I have a number of them and they are all impressive. They are expensive. If you just need a knife as a utility tool, this is an over kill. I see these knives a beautiful tool, utility and usefulness absolutely, but they are also a work of art and absolute workmanship. For that sometimes I don't mind paying a bit more. Dalstrong sometimes pushes the boundary of 'a bit more'.That being said, this set is beautiful. The handle, blades, bolster and pummel are perfection. The blades are sharp with non stick coating. I thought the handle will be slick and hard to use as seen in the pictures, but i stand corrected, the handle is comfortable and with good grip. It is not slippery when the hands are slightly wet or greasy.The sheaths are leather and fit the blades well.I use the large knife for cutting and slicing raw meat, like a roast into stew cubes, and also slicing after smoking or roasting. The blade is long, sharp and very stable. I call it the sword since it reminds me of a roman short sword.The fillet knife is excellent for trimming excess fat from a brisket or a roast, as well as other protein. It is sharp and it will glide as it cuts.The meat fork is large, good grip and very stable.if you can stomach the price this is a beautiful and very effective set, excellent workmanship and materials..

Stunning and sharp!
Gave these to my husband as a pre-Thanksgiving gift and he absolutely loves them. The knives are extremely sharp and cut through the turkey with no problem. The protective sleeves are an added bonus. They are beautifully designed, fit securely in both his hand and mine, and cleans easily. Hand wash only and dried immediately. Looking to get a metal block for storage, but for now they remain in the box, well protected.

Beautiful Set of Knives; Durable; Well Made
I've never owned a profession set of carving knives so, I really have nothing to measure this set against. This review is purely from my unqualified first time experience. So, upon unboxing, I was met with the most beautiful set of knives that are packaged so nicely. The knives are absolutely beautiful to the point, they look more like they are for showcasing more so than use. The blades are stainless steel and look shiny and sharp. The handles are wood with a resin band that is beautifully designed. This is true for the meat fork as well. Each piece has a nice amount of weight and you know it's a quality build and material. Each knife comes with a protective sheath which I thought was a nice touch. These knives are sturdy, durable and built to last. I'm looking forward to using them to during the holiday season. Since, I do not have any professional carving knives, I'm not sure if they are overpriced. They are really expensive and I'm hoping that price is justified in the longevity of the knives and how effective they are in use. For me only time will tell. Right now, I'm excited and a happy, proud owner of this set of Dalstrong Pro Carving Knives.

I’m already a huge fan of Dalstrong quality for cutlery and I’ve used their Gladiator series knives for years for meat preparation. Dalstrong knives keep their edge! I own several high-end knife sets, so I’m a bit of a critic when it comes to quality, sharpness, and functionality.I’m absolutely thrilled over this set. Smell the leather when you open the box…the sheaths are made with thick, high quality leather, beautifully debossed imprint with a snap-on, Dalstrong emblemed. The box is magnetized and will provide storage for your set for years to come.The handles are simply stunning. Each handle is unique with a dark (black-Ravenstone) stain and natural wood coloring and resin, polished smooth to let the natural wood beauty shine. Each one with an attractive inset. The handles fit comfortably and balanced in my hand. The metal is a unique, dark shadow color that blends well with the Ravenstone, beautifully polished and sharp. I like the notches at the top of the blade which touts its Viking appearance.These blades are serious sharp! I love the sloped transition of the full-tang handle to the blade. It’s a perfect place to grip to give more stability to my cut. My favorite knife is the fillet knife. It slides through chicken joints and filleted my chicken breast like butter-see the video. Look at the cut on the raw chicken, precise and clean. The slicing knife is just as impressive when slicing my smoked beef. I can’t boast the sharpness enough!The fork is super sharp and will hold steady and snag your food with ease. This fork is tough enough to handle your grilled meats and elegant enough to use as a serving fork.Best knives I own and a great value for this price point. This would make a fantastic gift set for any high-end kitchen. It meets the muscle and Viking manliness for the men and the stylish beauty for the women. This knife set is truly incredible. The detail in the handles alone, the overall color scheme coupled with the dark tint of the blades, compliments the entire piece perfectly. Blades are sharpened on one side, serrated on the other, beautiful and SHARP. Simple to maintain especially if you make sharpening your blades a habit.Very well packaged with a professional box. Included with the set was a nice metal pin with a magnet on the back, we hung it on our fridge to remember the knife brand in the hopes that someday we can order more of these, the quality is very high and appearance very appealing.Knives include covers with button latch for safe and secure storage when not in use.Highly impressed with these.
