Great product and looks as described. The kitchen shelf looks so neat and organized!! I’m ordering more!!
The wood lid on these jars give them a beautiful finishing touch.
perfect for storing soups, cookies or anything else where the packaging may not seal tight
Groats, here we come!Last year, we learned to elevate our experience from oats to groats...which is basically the whole hulled Oat but without all the mechanical slicing & dicing.Sure, this is nutrutional maximization. But it is the chewy flavor, texture & fulfillment that has us coming back for more! These 6 glass jars are perfect! They have three things going for them:__thick glass__wide open mouth__the threads on the glass & lids are precise (it aligns on the first go around)Note: the wooden lids are lined with plastic on the inside. While that's great for cleaning purposes, they should NOT be placed in the microwave and they must be handwashed. The lids include an embedded rubbery gasket to prevent leaking. The jar size fits perfectly in the neoprene sleeves (sold separately), by the way.For us, we add 1/2 cup of Groats and a cup of water.Let 'em soak at room temp for the first 24hrs and then in the fridge for the next 24hrs.Give the jar a shake now n then when we think about it.Remove the lid and microwave a minute or two.Pour our any extra liquid we don't want (he likes his runny, I like mine thick). And then butter up as normal. (aka Vanilla flavored Ghee WOW 🤯)That's why having 6 jars is best for us...three day rotations. We think this is a good purchase. Not just for oats/groats, but because they can be used for anything really. It's always a bonus when a product has more than one use. Here's some info on Groats you may find helpful...especially if your interested in blood sugar or satiety. By the way, cooked Groats make the best homemade granola bars!Oat Groats: As the whole, intact kernel (minus the inedible hull), the body's digestive enzymes have a larger surface area to break down. This compact, whole form of the starch granules makes the starches less accessible to enzymes, which significantly slows digestion. From A.I....The slower digestion rate has a positive impact on blood glucose (blood sugar) control.Sustained Energy and Stable Levels: The gradual breakdown and absorption of carbohydrates provide a steady release of glucose into the bloodstream, preventing rapid spikes and subsequent crashes in blood sugar levels.Lower Glycemic Index (GI): The glycemic index is a measure of how quickly a food raises blood sugar. The less processed the oat, the lower its GI:Oat Groats have the lowest GI.Benefits for Diabetics: For people with diabetes or prediabetes, this slow and steady effect helps manage the condition more effectively and avoids dangerous spikes.Feeling Full Longer: The high fiber content and slow digestion rate also contribute to a greater feeling of satiety (fullness), which can aid in weight management and reduce overall calorie intake.
Versatile Glass Jars for Meal PrepI've been using these for about five weeks for overnight oats and salads to bring to work.Size at 16 oz is ideal for single servings. I can fit a full portion of overnight oats with fruit and toppings or a decent sized salad. Not too big or too small for lunch prep.Leak proof claim is accurate. I've carried these in my bag sideways and upside down with no spills. The wooden lids seal tightly with the silicone ring inside. Very confident tossing them in my work bag.Quality of the glass feels sturdy and thick. They've survived multiple trips in the dishwasher without any cloudiness or damage. The wooden lids are smooth and well finished.Functionality is great for meal prep. I make six batches of overnight oats on Sunday and grab one each morning. The wide mouth makes them easy to fill and eat from directly. Also works well for layered salads and parfaits.Appearance looks nice with the natural wood lids. Way more attractive than plastic containers. I don't mind leaving them on my desk at work.Durability has been solid. No chips or cracks in the glass despite daily use and washing. The wooden lids haven't warped or cracked from moisture exposure yet.Value for money is reasonable getting six jars in a pack. Cheaper than buying individual glass containers and they all match.Only downside is the jars are a bit heavy when full compared to plastic, but that's expected with glass.Great for anyone doing regular meal prep.Claude is AI and can make mistakes. Please double-check responses.
You could get twice as many pint canning jars for half the price of these jars, and they would be thicker, stronger glass made to hold up to higher temperatures, etc. But that's not what these are or why you'd buy them. These are nice looking jars that you would want to have for storing portions of food that make and eat regularly, or take to work with you, or homemade condiments that you want to look nice on the table. You could even use them for large portions of spice blends or other dry goods that would like nice on on the shelf in the cabinet. The jars are certainly useful, and with a silicon ring inside the lids they get a nice airtight seal, so are usable for many things. But the main reason to get these jars is obviously for the appearance. Wood probably isn't the most practical material for jar lids, but it sure does look nice.I was a little skeptical that the wood would end up just being some sort of plastic sticker or veneer, but no, as far as I can tell, it's really wood. Each lid has a unique grain. The lids are plastic on the inside of course, with a silicon ring, so the wood isn't in contact with the food or absorbing moisture from the contents of the jar.I don't know what the wood lids are sealed with, but they seem to repel water well, though I will still be handwashing and immediately drying them to help them last longer. I would definitely recommend not putting them through the dishwasher, as that would pretty much guarantee a shortened lifespan. Only time will tell how well the wood holds up to spending time in the refrigerator and repeated washings, but it seems to be well treated so far, so I expect it to last.At 16oz these are a little large for a single portion of yogurt or oats, but that's not a big deal as leaving some empty space is fine with those. You could fit a cup of yogurt or oatmeal and still have space for berries, nuts, etc though. You could pack a small salad into these pretty well. I wouldn't mind an 8-10oz version of these jars though for smaller portions.
