This takes an average or even old and beat up box and transforms it into a luxury looking trinket box! I had no idea what I was getting, thought it would be imitation velvet look vinyl. Well, it is a vinyl backing, but the front is flocked velvet. The color is stunning, the photo doesn't do it justice. As soon as I saw what it was, I grabbed one of my old projects, several antique cigar boxes I meant to turn into jewelry boxes for men. I did the tiniest one first and because it has small edges, tight corners and is shallow, this is the most tedious out of all of them. If it worked on this, it is much easier when there is more surface and larger pieces to work with.It worked wonderful! The paper backing allowed me to map out the pattern and cut it from there instead of trying to use the "good side" to map it out. It cuts easily with a scissors or exacto knife and I rolled it right into place easily. If you take your time and just start one edge and get that in place, make sure it's lined up with where you want it and bingo! It melts right into place as you go. I did get one wrinkle but that was my fault, I stretched it a bit in that area. I burnished it down and it looks fine. I would recommend this to anyone doing craft projects involving gift boxes or how about the inside of a book cover when binding books? I would definitely use this to cover a book on the outside too. The adhesion is good and yet I could pull it off if I needed to. It has so many uses for lining drawers or boxes for just about everything. Photos are outside of cigar box, inside before covering and after lining. I did remove the background on the photos, dirty dinner dishes you know.
