Simple to Use, Rechargeable and Portable, Does a Great Job with My Pour Overs!
We have different coffee tastes in our household and so use all kinds of coffee prep - a 10 year old espresso machine, a Nespresso pod maker, a French Press and even a dual brew coffee maker for single pods and pots of coffee for guests.I am fairly new to pour over coffee, and have really been enjoying learning about the process after tasting the first couple of cups - so much better than even my morning espresso machine latte's.Two of us have converted and have started regularly drinking pour over coffee and can't go back to the other methods, we find it so delicious. The thing I noticed is that you can taste the "notes" in different coffee beans using this method.I've been making my morning pour over cup without a scale, but have a timed pour over kettle, so have trusted my grinder to measure out a 5 cup bean portion, as two of us pour over fans drink 12 ounce portions and the average grind portion is for a 6 ounce cup and we like it stronger to add steamed milk and collagen. It has varied from strong to very strong but hasn't been consistent.As I've reviewed many videos to learn about the process, I came across the standard 16:1 recommendation for the water to coffee ratio so started searching for a coffee scale and saw this portable one. I don't need a lot of sophistication, just something that gets the job done easily as I am a bit slow moving before the coffee goes into the tank.I read the directions in the enclosed pamphlet which were clear and straightforward.- I turned my kettle on and set if for 205 as I like my coffee hot, then ground my coffee.- I put my carafe and filter on the scale, and pressed the Tare button on the right of the scale to zero out the weight.- I sprinkled 20 grams of coffee into the filter for one cup watching the weight indicator in the center.- I pressed the Timer button on the left to start the timer and poured the recommended 40-60 grams of water to bloom the coffee, and watched the timer count up to 45 seconds.- I then poured an additional 320 grams (plus the 20 grams of coffee already showing to bring it up to 340 grams) while watching the scale. I was focusing on getting all the grounds wet on the upper sides of my filter so overshot the amount a bit, up to 370. The pour was done in about 2 minutes, so I poured too fast but I am learning.Even with my novice prep, this cup was perfect. Not bitter and full bodied. I am impressed! This little scale is perfect for our needs - its rechargeable, does a great job weighing and timing and is small enough to slip in your bag to take on the road for travel or vacation. It's a great addition to my morning coffee routine. Very happy with this item!

Very sensitive but may be a bit delayed
I may be crazy, but I think this scale is a little delayed when sensing larger inputs. For example, if I put a decently spoonful of grounds into my portafilter, it often shows up as less weight than I expect. Yet when I “top it off” with a bit more grounds with the next scoop, it seems to go up way more than I expect. I have been getting a consistent 18g into my portafilter, as I compared this with another scale that I have. It just seems delayed. But again, I may be crazy.One thing to make sure you are aware of is when the scale alerts you to be charged. When I first was using it, the battery light was on, and it showed three bars out of three bars. I thought that meant that the battery was fully charged. Apparently, the battery light does not come on until it’s almost dead. So although the battery symbol shows a full charge, the appearance of that battery symbol actually means it’s almost dead. A little counterintuitive, but when I read through the manual, it cleared that up for me.

Perfect sourdough scale!
I actually use this scale for my sourdough starter and it has been great. The precision is really helpful when measuring small amounts, especially for feedings. Awesome coffee scale
Besides coffee, it works great as a scale for food measurements of spices, etc. 2000 kilogram weight limit, plenty for everything I need. The beeps are kind of annoying but it can easily be muted. I think ideally this is for people who like to use pour over as there is a flow rate measurement scale as you pour water into the coffee grinds but I don't even bother using it for that. While I use grams, you can change the measurements between oz and ml as well. Super easy to use and with the chargeable battery and included heat mat to protect it from the hot coffee, its very easy to recommend.
