Expands plate storage
I have always stored my plates in a wall cabinet. But I recently became aware of this device that allows you to store plates in a drawer. This is a sturdy rack with a plastic nut you loosen to expand the plate rack. When it is the size you desire, you tighten the nut back down. The expansion pieces and sides are metal, while the bottom disc is wood. I'm not particularly strong and had to use a pair of pliers to loosen and tighten the nut--but once you have it in place, you probably won't be making changes very often. It works like it says and I'm quite happy with a new place to store plates (these new kitchens are practically devoid of upper cabinets--so I think this is going to be a popular item!). I have 12 8-1/2" salad plates stacked in mine, but it could easily accommodate full-size plates. Recommended.

Nice plate holder that doubles as a carrier
This bamboo and metal plate holder looks very nice and is great to use for plate storage as well as a container for carrying plates. Nice that you can use it to store plates in a cabinet and then carry them somewhere else when you want to use them. There are no instructions in the box or on the packaging for how to adjust the plate holder so I had to come back here to the product page to see the instructions for how to adjust. I had an issue though with getting the knob on the bottom to loosen by hand and had to use some pliers to get it started. Once it was loosened though, I was able to loosen and re-tighten the knob over and over to adjust the metal bars to the right size for my plates.
