Heavy, solid, quality, a little smaller than I imagined, do not soak in water
These are a beautiful, quality set of boards that would make a great gift or for yourself.They are made of compressed wood and treated somehow that makes them quite heavy for their size. The surface is a smooth matte that feels like stone or ceramic to me. I would never guess that these are wood, personally. They are not very thick, but feel very solid, and are easy to clean up as the meat and fruit juices don't soak in (at least not so far).Though I received these for free, I would say the price point of $60 is appropriate compared to other sets available. This one definitely feels "expensive" and somewhat unique.I didn't read the dimensions, and I have other larger cutting boards myself, and these are just a little smaller in my opinion than many sets, so do read the dimensions. This isn't a complaint, as the smaller sizes are versatile for me - just something to note if you are looking for a particular size. The small one is perfect for cutting limes and lemons.So far, these have not scratched at all. They really do feel like cutting right on a stone countertop of sorts.Though these are dishwasher safe, the only downside to these is they CANNOT BE SOAKED IN WATER. With multiple people (older teens) in our household cooking and slicing things, I can see someone forgetting this instruction and soaking this with other handwash items and, I predict, ruining it.Very happy with these, and hope they last a long time!

Strong, sturdy, attractive board and utensils, and DISHWASHER SAFE!!
While I really like these, I am unsure that they are solid wood. They make a "clink" sound when tapped together, very similar to ceramic or stoneware, so it is some sort of composite. That being said, they seem impervious to moisture, which helps to keep bacteria from soaking into the material, and so far my knives have not marked them. They are super hard, no give at all, so if you don't have a knife sharpener, you will need one soon with this material, as it's hardness will dull knives. Just touch the knife up after use and it will be fine. The sides are two different colours, in case you like to use one for meat and the other for everything else. I like the interesting layered look; it is attractive, and thankfully not boring like a lot of wood-type utensils are. The feel of the utensils is comfortable in my hand, and they are smooth as silk to the touch. They work great with all of my pans, both nonstick and cast iron. The cost is very fair, as these are good quality and should last for many years. Big plus: they can go in the dishwasher! That's a huge selling point for me. If you are looking for a wedding or shower gift that everyone can use, this is perfect. 4 stars because they are not "solid" wood; they appear to be a composite, but they are still attractive and well built - and don't forget - DISHWASHER SAFE!!!

Really nice "Pakka" wood set
These are very rigid and strong tools, loving them so far.No issues with them swelling or delaminating.We are hard on wood utensils... guilty of leaving them in water in the sink waiting to be washed.These have held up phenomenally, they dont stain in tomato bases, they dont flex at all and the feel almost glass smooth. Solid, Stylish, and Truly Dishwasher-Safe—Great for Everyday Use
This spoon and cutting board set feels really well-made—both pieces are heavy, sturdy, and have a nice quality look. The board is thick with a cool reversible design, and the spoons are comfortable to hold. Even though they say it’s totally dishwasher safe (which is super convenient), I still end up hand-washing because I’ve always done that with wood. Awesome way to save non-stick pans
I'm constantly worrying about scratching the non-stick pans I use. Unfortunately none of the rubber or plastic utensils I have used hold up well and all feel a bit flimsy. These are an awesome solution. The cutting board is great as well and seems like it'll hold up better than the other wooden ones I've used. This compressed wood is really hard and well made. I haven't run them through the dishwasher enough to form an confident opinion but they are doing great so far. No chipping or wear from normal use so far either.

Solid board, Solid buy!
I love the weight of the cutting board and tools. The layers of wood gives it a very sturdy feel. Even the wood layers on the tools gives it a solid feel and because the layers alternate in color, it produces the funky pattern on them. I didn’t like it at first, but when see the details up close, you can appreciate it more. I also love that the cutting board is light on one side and dark on the other.
