We have made waffles, sandwiches, gusadillas, and even donuts with this awesome maker. They all turn out so well. We love this thing. My kids are having fun helping make breakfast now. It's awesome.
I purchased this item earlier in the year and the first time I used it I loved it! 5 Stars. Why? It was exactly what I wanted. Then some time went by and it was too hot over the summer to bake. Now fall is here I tried to use it the second time--disaster! The device MELTED and overheated. it was a serious fire risk. I had to unplug it and wait nervously for it to cool off. Thankfully it did. When I looked to discern what happened I noticed a serious design flaw. The mechanism which holds the top lid of the unit in place is flimsy plastic, it heats up when you use the unit because the plate touched it on the top and it melted thru so the top came lose exposing the heating element beneath it. The heat element just kept getting hotter and hotter--it seriously malfunctioned! The first time I used the product, it turned on and off and had some level of heating control being exercised. This second use was disastrous and it melted the plastic. It is hard to know if this specific unit is flawed, or if the manufacturer just didn't build it for longevity. It is too bad because otherwise the functionality of a well-design product like this would have made a nice addition to my kitchen appliances. Anyone know a product like this which is METAL not plastic? Rufus?
It cooks well, but there's a lot of smoke after less than 2 mins which kinda worried me. Also idk from which point the maker was damaged, it had a big crack on top of the lid 😔
My husband made gluten free milk free donuts i loved them they tasted perfect.
Solid but flawed.. first off the negative, the triangle sandwich plates are junk.. unless your bread is perfectly square it just ejects the cheese thus coating the machine hinges and making cleanup suck, and making half soggy half hard as stone lumps of bread.. less that I like it, the panini/grill plates make a decent sandwich.. it heats very fast.. but making sandwiches was my main need for this and the sandwich plates being juck has to cost it a point, with that said if you were looking at this or one that does not have diff plates and only has built in triangle plates, buy this.. I can't stress enough how bad those plates are .
