I really like the size (most double boilers that come with pan sets are pretty big). These are small and work great for melting chocolate. Also, they have a pour spout and the bottom is smooth, so it is easy to get the chocolate out. Were perfect for my Christmas baking!
I love the two different sizes to melt down my tallow. I suppose if I wanna do chocolate, they would be perfect for that also. They weren’t perfect and clean up as a breeze.
Great little pots. I love the stability. So much easier than a bowl over a boiling pot.
I don't usually give reviews, and I especially don't like to give a negative review on any product. This double boiler set has many nice features. It cleans up beautifully and the little spatula works very nicely. The issue is it's impossible to stir your chocolate while melting it without the top sides of the pan hitting the boiling water, which as you know, you should not let the sides of your pot hit the boiling water when melting chocolate. I somewhat solved the problem by rubber banding the two handles together to help keep the top pan stabilized while stirring but just putting a rubber band on would sometimes knock the side of the top pot into the boiling water. I've decided to purchase a better fitting set. If you are someone who is a serious candy maker and would be using the set often, I would not recommend this set. If your someone who will only use it once or twice a year, then it's a nice set.
Purchased these to start making DIY whipped tallow balm, lip balm, & lotion bars. The double boilers are perfect for melting tallow, beeswax, Shea butter, coconut oil, etc. I have been using them regularly and am pleased with the purchase. Good quality for the price.
