This is a well-made set to use for all cooking needs.
I have needed to replace our double boiler with steamer basket for quite some time but couldn't find this combination, until now. This set is perfect! The pieces fit together well, the handles are strong, not wobbly, the weight is heavy enough to be strong but easy to handle, the lid fits tightly and has a vent, and the set stores easily, with the lid inverted on whichever piece is on top. I expect to never have to replace this set

This item is exactly as described. It is a double boiler and a steamer. It is not, and never claimed to be, a double steamer. The bottom pan has a very nice, thick bottom, and the double boiler and steamer pans are a good thickness without being too heavy. This is the 2nd one of these that I have bought from this manufacturer. The first one has a long, single handle which is getting more difficult for me to lift. So when I saw this set with the double handles I was very pleased! I use this set, in one combination or another almost daily, and it meets all of my needs. It is a strong, thick-bottomed, set, the pieces fit together nicely, and it performs very nicely. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed if you decide to purchase a set. The only negative comment I have about this item involves the seller. When my package arrived, each pan was in a plastic bag to prevent scratching, etc, but there was no product packaging (no box or paperwork, including a warranty, model number, or any identifying information or labels). I didn’t send it back because it wasn’t a gift, and since I have used my other set for years, I’m not really worried about the warranty. But, that being said, if it’s not going to be shipped with it’s original packaging and paperwork, that should be clearly stated in the item description.
