Solid and easy to assemble

This box feels solid and was easy to assemble. The doors open easily and close firmly. I feel like it would hold two large loaves of bread. I purchased this to clean up the counter where we have all the stuff for feeding the dogs - all the supplements and things had gotten out of hand. Now the counter looks clean.(Directions were not the easiest to follow. The pictures had very low contrast and were small so my 56-yr-old eyes needed the assistance of my camera to zoom in on some things, but even then it only took me about 10 minutes to put it together.)

Instructions are inadequate

Nice bread box but I totally missed the part that it had to be put together. The printed instructions are so tiny you will need a magnifying glass. The diagrams of how the pieces fit together are so light it is difficult to make out some of the pieces. Got it put together and bread items put in it. Looks good on counter.

Cute and loaf perfect

The bread box itself is pretty sweet and the color of the brown is richly stained. The screws are exposed even though they are recessed. The joints are pretty tight but not airtight. The top shelf will fit one and maybe a half of a loaf. The bottom will fit two loaves and a couple of rolls on top. The hardware is perfectly sized and made of good metal and the doors open very well. The wood seems good even though it's cheap wood. The wood is scrap wood and pieced together but it's sanded pretty well. All in all I'm not unhappy with this purchase and the price was fair. I do however wish they had wooden hole plugs to cover the recessed screws. The lined acrylic is a perfect accent to this breadbox.

Nice looking, and holds a lot of goods!

I am sooooo happy that I bought this! It doesn't take up much room on the counter, but the double decker provides so much storage! I was able to get all the individual containers cluttering the countertop into the box with room to spare. I didn't care for the knobs but changed them out and now it fits my decor better. Love it!

This is one of those buys, where it exceeded expectations in every way, hence I must leave a review.Easy to put together and it looks stunning. It's clearly well designed as all corners and fitments were perfectly aligned. The hardware knobs are perfect and it provides a highly satisfying and very secure click, when closing.Can't say enough good things about this. If you're on the fence, just do it.Mine arrived very brand new and unused, with all packaging materials intact. Also did NOT have that strong wood stain smell as others mention.The back piece also has some very small holes to allow for proper breathing pass-through.10 out of 10, would recommend.

Chemical smell and taste in bread

Update: About 3 weeks later....still strong smell and cannot store food in it. Apparently, it cannot be aired out. Only buy if you wish for your breads to taste and smell like strong chemicals.Original Review: I cannot comprehend how this has good reviews.It was easy to put togeter and does look nice. The problem? The smell taints your food.I have washed it with vinegar, let it air out for days, kept open containers of baking soda in their multiple times, left coffe grounds in there, etc. Nothing I have tried removes the strong odor. The smell has gotten better over time, but any bread stored in a closed package....well expect it to taste and smell like chemicals.
