Heavy-duty cleaver but needs sharpening

I ordered this cleaver for my husband who does most of the food preparation. It is necessary to have a great-cutting cleaver, especially when cutting up chickens or other meats.First of, presentation is fantastic! The cleaver arrives in a wood box with Dynamic Cleaver printed on it. The box closes with two hinges - I was quite impressed when I saw this.The cleaver is Animas Forge Blasting Grade Steel - after looking up what that meant, I learned that this is a high quality steel and very durable. That's good; exactly what you are looking for in a cleaver.The knife is very heavy! It is definitely too heavy for me. However, it will be perfect for food preparation since it has to cut through heavy meat.I noticed that the blade needs sharpening - I believe it needs to be much sharper for heavy duty cutting. My husband keeps our knives very sharp; I don't think it will be a problem to sharpen this (nor will it be a problem to keep it sharpened).You do not want to wash it in the dishwasher - as with most high-quality knives, you will need to handwash it to preserve its sharpness and protect the handle.I think my husband will like this cleaver. It is a bit pricey - hopefully it will live up to the price. My husband has not yet handled the knife - I plan to give this to him as a present.
