I am absolutely in love with the look of this Eater x Zwiesel Fortessa Seraphina Glass Set. The fluted glass design is even more beautiful in person; it catches the light beautifully and adds a really sophisticated, modern touch to the table.In terms of size, the set is spot on. The 10.6" dinner plates and 8.5" salad plates are the perfect dimensions for standard meals, and the 22oz cereal bowls are deep enough for everything from soup to pasta. Beautiful but has a lot of unfortunate quality issues and flaws
These dishes are gorgeous, reflecting light in such a pretty way - but there are major quality issues here. The glass is very thick and sturdy, more like pyrex than just regular glass. I have to say, though, that I am so disappointed because every single piece has visible flaws. There are bubbles in the glass, irregularities like ridges, and even embedded hairs and particles in some of them. (See my pics for a few examples. My video shows one plate that has a large, very visible embedded particle of some kind, right in the bottom of the plate - I took it out into the sun so you could see it clearly.)I wanted to use these for special occasions and guests, but I can't really do that because people are literally going to think there's a hair on their plate, when actually there is a hair embedded into the glass itself. So my overall take is, they are very pretty dishes, and I do like the thickness of the glass and the design, but I wouldn't have ordered these if I'd known they would have so many flaws. I'm really surprised that a Fortessa product would have so many issues, given the quality the brand is known for. I can't recommend this set, sadly.
