Beautifully Made Tamper
This tamper works well and is beautiful. The weight is heavy and the walnut knob is beautifully finished. I have the 58mm version and wish the bottom tamp disc was 58.5 rather than 58.35 to avoid loose fines on the basket wall. I tried both the 20 lb and 30 lb spring and swapping them out is easy following the video instructions on YouTube from the manufacturer. There is one design flaw I’ve found so far. Espresso fines get trapped between the top of the tamping disc and the bottom of the leveling plate. As the tamping plate slides down into the portafilter basket, grounds fall from the basket side onto the top of the tamping disc. This is one reason for preferring a 58.5 tamping disc rather than 58.35. The palm tamping operation is very nice and preferred to the traditional tamping ergonomics.

This tamper is gorgeous. The walnut handle matches perfectly with the rest of my wooden setup, and it feels great in the hand. Perfect weight pressure
This tool is absolutely important in making the perfect espresso. I had no idea what pressure I was pushing with my standard tamper and now this provides the perfect tamp. It also levels the grounds which my standard issue tamper did not do. Love it!

High Quality and Functionality
Like most other Knodos products, this tamper is very high quality and very good looking. The wood and metal are quality material and have a very nice and balanced weight. This fit perfectly in my 54mm portafilter (also from Knodos). The click feedback is a neat feature to let you know when you have reached the appropriate force for a great tamp. My only criticism is that the walnut wood on this tamper has a slightly different color than the other walnut accessories I have from Knodos, which made it stick out a bit since all the other items match properly (photo attached). Otherwise it functions well overall and is a great product.

Walk off grand slam with this beautiful tamper

Very satisfying to use and takes the guesswork out
Prior to buying this tamper my wife was struggling with either applying too much or too little pressure with the standard tamper so she went back to using the nespresso machine lol. After buying this tamper however it really takes the guess work out and gives you an even and perfect tamper each time. My wife is back to making real espresso again and the plus for me is that the tamper is also extremely satisfying to use. Glad I got it!
