these are great for oden pans or hot pot, you can use them to hold smaller, more delicate, or heavier stuff that might get lost in the broth, for example Gyoza is great in hot pot or oden but you don;t want to let them sit too long so these make it easy to pop in cook and take out. another example is toppogi which can fall apart, and are heavy so they sink.
I’am very disappointed with this item. This is a kid toy , not a real strainer for adults . This item is super small, but in this picture it looks big.
A bit small but worked well for what we needed it for !!
Solid build, but you can only make about a cup (2 servings) of pasta at a time. As the container will stay hooked in the top of the pot. Which is good if you are working on portion control.I would also avoid the finer pastas like orzo and angel hair
These are very small. Portion size and overall size. They don't take up a lot of space is the plus.
This strainer does work perfectly to refresh noodles. I tested using angel hair pasta and was able to warm a little less than 1 cup of noodles in seconds. I believe that this is best used for thin pasta types and rice noodles. The unit is very small and would not work well for larger pastas.
