The Ultimate Tool for Fast, Lazy Cooking
Love this! This is a great grater. Thus far, I've used this for a softer cheddar and a few carrots. This worked like a charm every time, and was very easy to set up, operate, and wash after. I love electric graters because I despise manual grating (yes yes I'm lazy), so my biggest points are ease of use, speed, and easy cleanup. This hit the mark on all three!This came with a few different grater types/sizes, and has only 2-3 parts that have to be washed after use. The top of it is very wide compared to other models, which I love -- I want to fit as mush as possible in there, thank you! This easily fits an entire block of cheese, and a pretty big one too. This thing could eat most onions no problem. It comes with the pusher/top thing, which gets pretty flush to the shredder and is sizeable and easy to grip enoughThe cheddar was handled without issue, and I tried both the large shredding and the slicing grades on that, just to get a sampling. They cut through the cheese like butter, and the large shredding grade didn't cause any pilling of the cheese or excessive messiness/smushing of the cheese. Nice, clean shred. The slicing blade was also excellent, and sliced the cheese with no smushing. I will note though that for slicing, if you want nice clean slices you have to dump it out occasionally, as it doesn't get pushed out as easy as the shredded.On the carrots, I used the slicer (for experimental purposes), but mostly the shredder, as I like doing soups with finely shredded carrots. This performed excellently here as well. It had slightly more difficulty with the hard vegetables, but that's standard, and it still got through them with little resistance. The shredding was nice, smooth, and super fine, with no sticking. The slicing had some slight difficulties at the thicker parts (slowed down a bit), but still chopped em up no problem.Overall, I think this is an excellent product at a great price -- makes my life so much easier, and is super low maintenance to boot!
