Should of bought this sooner. Love it is slim and doesn't take up all the space in my kitchen. Strong enough for cheese, carrots, sweet potatoes. I use it a lot! Once a month I am shredding 4 bags of carrots and 4 bags of sweet potatoes. Blocks of cheese. Has saved my arm so many times!
I've tried a couple other options for grating cheese but so far this is the best one. It's sturdy and grates cheese super fast. I was worried the cheese would just kind of get stuck but a lot of it does fall out into the bowl. Easy to clean as long as you do it right away. My only complaint is it can take several tries to get the component to click back in after taking it apart for washing.
Has saved my knuckles! I have tried everything to to save my knuckles from hand grater boxes for cheese and potatoes. I even bought a set of those silver gloves to protect you from getting cut! Those worked but I was forever washing them. Not sanitary. But this thing is fantastic! I buy 10 lbs of potatoes from Sam's club for less than $4 to save money. I grated about 5 lbs of them...par cooked in my microwave. Shredded them then cooled on a large tray in a single layer. Once cool or room temp I put in the freezer for about an hour. Then I put them in freezer bags and put them in my freezer for future use. I'm a country girl so hash browns are a staple around here. It took me a minute to figure out how to take it all apart but it was so simple. Gave it to my youngest one to figure out! 😂.it came with the largest holed shredder plates already in it so it was game on right from the git! I am so impressed. Love it!!
Pros:Slicing works greatLarger grater blade works greatA lot of powerEasy to take apart and cleanCons:The smallest grater blade is unusable even for soft stuff like zucchini. Pushing harder does not help. Waiting longer only helps that much.It just get plugged with whatever you are trying to grate and does not do anything.Other thoughts:Watch out when handling the slicing blades. No problems if you are careful, but pay attention - they are sharp!You are not suppose to disable safety and grate long veggies like zucchini or cucumber, but technically it is easy with a flat screwdriver. Please do not do it, but if you do - keep all your fingers outside.
Worth every penny. Never grating my hands again.
