A little trial and error involved but seems to work well...
We haven't had an automatic knife sharpener before; I'm more used to using manual ones which give you a bit more control but wanted to try this out. Out of the box it's heavier than I was expecting, there's three different options for sharpening: coarse, fine and polishing, each of those has two angles to use.The instructions are a little vague on how exactly you use these other than pulling the knife back slowly over the sharpenera depending on how dull it is. I wish it was a little more descriptive with the two angled sharpeners, I ended up running the knives through all of them; I guess it's a bit trial and error. Running the knives through the corse sharpeners was pretty noisy but lessened with each sharpener; the polishing one was pretty quiet.Afterwards I was unsure if they were much sharper but according to my wife she could tell right away. Underneath the machine is a magnetic plate that catches the filings shaved off the knives; there was a fine silvery dust that I wiped away easily with a damp cloth. One thing I think the manual is mistaken about is saying you can use a bread knife on it, which is serated; I don't think I would want to try it on one. The Amazon listing doesn't show you able to use a serated knife so I think it's some conflicting information there.Overall I don't mind this; I'm not sure if I'm getting any better sharpening than doing it manually but this does do it a little speedier. It does seem to be well built and decent quality so I'll continue to use it.

A good knife sharpener.
This is definitely a step up from the manual "slide" style sharpeners, but there are a few things worth noting. It is unfortunate that there is no way to adjust the angle, but I get it. That'd add more complexity. The slots aren't very tight, which is both good and bad. It doesn't feel very precise when you can move the knife around in the slot, which absolutely would affect the sharpening angle, but you don't really have that much control over it. While it's worth noting, it's not so dramatic as to be a deal breaker, and from my experience so far, it hasn't affected the sharpened quality that I can tell at this point.. But it can lead to inconsistent results, so it's worth noting.Pulling this out of the box and setting it up is extremely simple, you just pull it out and plug it in, flip the switch, and you're off to the races.Pulling the knife through the first stage is noisy, as you'd expect of metal being sharpened. Not ear piercingly so. Second stage is quieter, third is quieter yet. All three pull relatively smoothly after a bit. There's a bit of "feel" to using this, as the first few pulls, you'll likely notice a bit more resistance as the blade is cut to match the sharpening wheel. After a few pulls, it glides, and you can move onto the next slot to repeat the process. The resulting edge was notably improved, and unlike the "slide" sharpeners, this one was smooth and has a much better chance of lasting longer between sharpens since the edge is polished as well. There is a magnetic door on the bottom to collect the "shavings", which is so fine to effectively be an extremely powder of metallic knife bits. Smart idea.I cant vouch for durability at this point, as it's still a new item. If anything breaks, I'll be back to let you know, but so far it's doing a good job. While 4 stars in general is considered 'poor' in the aggregate of Amazon reviews, I try to make full use of the 5 star range. If I could do 4½ stars, that'd be more accurate. There might be better sharpeners out there, but this one is quite good. None of the negatives I pointed out are deal breakers, and I have no qualms about recommending this item despite my critiques.

Does merely okay
This knife sharpener leaves a lot to be desired. The quality if not consistent because one side the grind is lower than the other so there isn't much consistency. It got my knife just sharp enough to cut okay, but not very sharp like my much cheaper manual sharpener does. The speed because of inconsistent grind actually is slower than my manual as well. I had to use the manual to get it as sharp as I needed. For this value for the money I cannot recommend this overall. I gave 3 stars because it does get the knife sharp enough, but it is really close to being 2 stars. Value for the money is just bad. The looks of the product is very clean and colors are decent. The materials otherwise seem to be of a decent quality. If they fixed the most important part (the grinders) this could be a home run.All in all I cannot recommend.

Good Quality and Works Very Well
This electric knife sharpener is high quality and works extremely well. The 3-stage system makes it easy to sharpen and polish knives with consistent results. I really like the 15° precision angle guide, which helps keep the edge even and professional-looking. The diamond abrasive discs restore dull blades quickly, and the different grits make a noticeable difference. It works great on my steel kitchen knives and even handles ceramic knives nicely. Overall, it’s a well-built, effective, and easy-to-use sharpener that I’m very happy with!
