This product is amazing. This makes sharpening knifes easy. This will put a perfect edge on any of your kitchen knifes. If I you have a little notch in your blade from putting it in the kitchen sink, run a few passes through the course side, then a few passes through the fine side, and it's as good as new. This will make an inexpensive knife cut like a expensive knife. I highly recommend this product!
Ease of use and really sharpens the knives well. Really can’t go wrong with using this to sharpen up old knives.
It works great I use it once a week
Just received the product, one brand identical to many others under different names on Amazon. It came with no outer box, the box was damaged and looked as if it had been opened already. It was delivered during and light rain, not placed on our covered porch so the box got wet mostly on the outside with no evidence of the product getting significantly wet. The product's bubble wrap had been shifted to one side, but no visible damage or marks on the product. It started-up fine. I sharpened our entire set of Chicago Cutlery knives that were is dire need of sharpening. I took care to not apply too much pressure while drawing the knives four passes across each of the three sections of the sharpener.When finished I removed the tray on the bottom to clean the magnetic strip of the metal particles. Given the number of knives sharpened there was a very small amount of particles on the tray. Odd. When turning the sharpener over I noticed a fair amount of particles fell from between the sharpening slots. I shook and tapped the sharpener and saw 10 or 20 times the amount particles exit the slots from what was on the tray. Word to the wise, don't rely on the tray to hold all of the metal the sharpener removes from the knives.I have only used one knife since the sharpening. I had a steak on which I used one of the steak knives to cut. We had stopped using these knives for years as they were useless for cutting just about anything. The knife cut the steak effortlessly. My expectations were low, but the sharpness was as good as any steak knife I've used anywhere. The sharpener did its job very well.Why only four stars? The motor didn't seem as powerful as it should for this to be a long lasting product. Over the long haul if the metal particles are not removed they reside on the inside potentially causing issues with the internals shortening the sharpener's life. The box as delivered looked (damaged) as if it could have been returned and resold. And regardless of how well it sharpened it hard to tell how long the unit will last.
UNSATISFIED! This knife couldn't handle knives with thicker blades. I had one knife with a couple minor nicks and after several passed through the sharpener, they were still there-I reverted back to a stone to take them out. This sharpener is great for the kitchen but not where knives are used a lot. I am looking at a belt type. I would have returned this but realized I had had it over 30 days. I used it several times and then just left it on the shelf because it didn't do the job.
Easy to use , impressive sharpness in no time, good value for money
I was asbout to discard several of my older knives because the never seemed sharp. This sharpener brought back the my knives to NEW sharpness. Well worth the money!
