A lunchbox that cooks too!
Really useful little gadget to have around.I do a lot of field work in wildlife rescue and many times that involves setting treps to catch an injured animal and waiting to get lucky before being able to provide it medical care and rehabilitate it then ultimately release it back into its habitat.Anyway I'm accustomed to eating room temp food and surviving on junk food and gas station snacks and it's braking me down mentally lol. So I have been looking into things like this so I could actually have a nice and mildly nutritious warm meal prepping for me while I'm out doing the setup and ready to eat without me having to do anything else throughout the process.I really like that this one came with an insulated cooler which is important because sometimes trouble arises and I may start eating and then have to step out and don't want to keep having to heat the unit all day so being able to maintain the temp is important.Secondly the 4 sides closure makes a wonderful seal to keep smells in a little better than some designs so I'm not luring the animals to me instead of the food I put in the traps for them. Obviously when I take the lud off to eat they'll smell that, but I don't want my car to smell of food all day from miles away while this is slow cooking. The sealing top they with vent is a great touch and makes this more utilitarian for all different types of meals. Some of which need more of a steam release and others need more of a sealed pressure with that valve closed. This comes with a silverware set which is a bonus. And it includes a small container for sauces or sides that you don't want to touch the main meal and don't need to be cooked in there. Then the stainless steel food tray is 2 compartments and fully removable to use as a standalone plate and for ease of washing later. The unit seems to heat up quickly and evenly and maintains a stable heat cycle which is important so some parts aren't cold while others are burning. I've tried two meals in it so far. Spaghetti and broccoli and chili with Texas toast. Both of which came out awesome and delicious. This is made to be used in a vehicle, but there are adapters you can get to use in a standard outlet if you're at a campsite and using it like that or with a jackery out in the lawn of a sporting event for a tailgating party or something like that. It just seems useful for a lot of different scenarios where you'll want warm food that keeps warm as long as possible. The next meal I'm going to try is fondue yum!
