A fantastic addition to my kitchen tools!

This jar opener is truly amazing. As a senior citizen, I just don’t have the strength I once had for opening jars. This really WORKS!! I just want to thank you for making this item. It opens things up very quickly and nicely. This is the best little helper I have ever bought. Almost Perfect

Overview:As described.Experience:Yep as described and in keeping with other reviews, that's good for 4 stars. I don't give 5 stars unless it does all that and does something exceeding expectations, like sing and dance. This meets all my expectations, good quality no issues. Compact size works perfectly, well OK it will not open all jars, I had one that just would not budge. Overall better than others.I'm perplexed by the reviews of the different types as I have tried them all and even let my 86 year old mother try:The squeeze and grip type, which depend on how hard you can squeeze and the gripper material, aren't much better than a gripper pad. Then there is the all metal wedge type, which can be hand held or attached under a counter, they will shred metal lids, especially mason jar lids and no matter how hard you try to wedge you still have to twist the jar with no gained advantage in effort. The ratcheting rubber band type, I had these to take odd stuck oil filters off, back in the day, they didn't work then still don't. The stainless steel ratcheting type are the best design, kind of like a self adjusting vise grip pliers but all are so poorly made they bend and are self destruct with little effort (first use for me). If only someone made one that wasn't cheaply riveted together and thin steel it would be absolutely the bestThat being said this Elite Gourmet EJO800 High Power Torque Automatic Battery Operated Electric Jar Opener is the best I've tried. So far so good and like I said opened almost everything with 0 effort and no damage to jar or opener.

Waste of money

Wish I could put 0 stars. This trash doesn’t work. It smashed all the cans my mom with severe arthritis tried it on & didn’t open a single one. Just wasted her food. Can’t return it bc they want me to drive over 2 hours to pick it up & mail it back to them. I’m sure this company really needed my $17 though.

it worked

read manual first and save. it has return instructions in it. put fresh batteries in it, per manual but would do that any way, and pressed button. motor starts but you have to hold for 3 seconds to start working. acted a little hinky but eventually opened jar. just have to be patient. has opened small bottles, hard plastic bottles but don't recommend on softer plastic bottles as it would probably crush them. a big help for me as i have only one good hand.

Works but would not buy again

I am old and needed more strength to open jars etc. when I got this I was very disappointed. It is basically a can opener mounted on an arm to open jars instead of cans. It takes quite a bit to hold jar opener while arms close onto cap and then sides of bottle or jar. With that said it does open the jars so just requires some patience before and after opening jar. I would not recommend it to others as it is clumsy and bulky to use. I have only used it a few times but it does the job. Longevity is questionable
