This works really good, and this might be about the best for pure glass.

This is all glass, with no metal and no plastic. To some of us that is important, and this is very good for those wanting only glass near their food. However, it is a bit fragile. The first one arrived broken in undamaged packaging. The replacement works good. The glass heats up during use, though, so using mittens to move it is sometimes necessary, but if the grip slips and the lid falls on the floor, it would likely shatter, so I usually do not use the mittens and just hold the hot lid. Perhaps in retrospect plastic is a better idea, the only issue being any chemical exposure due to plastic. I am unsure how long I will have this lid before I eventually might accidentally break it, so I am going to keep an eye out to buy a spare lid I like. This one is good and meets all my needs; I'm just not sure how long I can keep it in one piece.
