The bottom of the coffee cup has cardstock sewn inside and this allows it to stand up. There does not seem to be any other heavy items sewn in to keep it weighed down (e.g., no beans). Antennas have wire so they stand up. The sign does appear to be removable if you just want the coffee cup. It would be cute on a coffee bar or used for a tiered tray decoration.
