Beautiful piece braiser+ the 6qt Dutch oven

Got the 6qt Dutch oven-great acquisition. Use the braiser nearly daily. Highly happy with my enameled cast iron.Love the braiser-beautiful1. Have not baked in it-cant attest to durability with baking temp impact on enamel and interior2. Only cooked twice, 1st great, second even better-it cooks relatively steadily and efficiently3. Cooked dish efficiently4. It is small and perfect for a small household, specialty dish and first time last iron user (wanting to try it etc,) it is great.5. Cast iron is NOT my preferred vessel (time efficiency hands off and low maintenance preferences) BUT I like this6. Use it for specialty or destination dishes (specifically wanting a particular or specific occasion etc) not an everyday 'pan' for me, but when used it is great-great to use and feel and outcome7. Not a daily cooker, and I prefer to use as few of pans as possible, with most efficiency, durability, easy of clean and care as well as aesthetically pleasing to use -this hits the aesthetics, semi efficiency and heavy weight durability.8. if cooking in bulk, not good for that. If cooking for efficiency (amount and certain ingredients) may not be preferred9. Beautiful looking, great as a gift or for for self, great for cast iron vets or aficionados to accent their stock or first timers to try out10. First time use fine..( not a big cast iron user cast iron enamelled or otherjerwise-i find it overatred and I prefer other cooking materials..BUT this is a beautiful piece, after lots of research and deciding on item, this is a great value...it is weighty substantial feels great easy to handle and looks beautiful-the black is classic elegant and beautiful (other colors look great from pics as well). The handles seem lighter than the rest of unit, sort of like mismatched to weight distribution bit easy to handle and use. First use fine cleaned well-agaon don't cook enough with cast iron to provide significant input..BUT as a first time braiser iece and starter item.. recommend especially of cast iron really isn't your thkngu t wanting to try it out..it does work for it's purpose. This braiser is nice and feels top notch, substantial, and enjoy to use, looks great on the stove and cooks a substantial amount and Easy to clean so far --qualityy seems top notch and great value for the price-the quality s top notch even comparable to other brands for the quality usage and orice...Package was securly packed in basic box and received excellent condition packaging was solaon cardboard box (have another cast iron price that came as excellent with beautiful box packaging that could be gifted right on the box in camenin-BUT this was basic but securely plain cardboard -still great beautiful item..could rebox if gifting. Highly recommend for self or gift for novice cast iron users or accent piece for major cast iron users. Lovely piece, delight to use, came beautifully condition, hope holds up and a top quality value for price . Recommend.

Good value

Originally I purchased this to use it for baking sourdough. It arrived in perfect shape. However, once I read the instructions, I found out this pot is not designed for long-term high heat temps. So if you are looking to use it for bread baking, this is not the pot for it. The high heat will cause it to chip. It’s a beautiful, heavy, good quality dutch oven that is great for anything that doesn’t require super high heat for extended time.

Great alternative to Le Creuset! This isn't non-stick (and neither are most enamel cast irons)

This is NOT non-stick. If you're looking for a cheaper Le Creuset, this might be a good alternative. I have had both, and this definitely comparable. I got white cause it was on sale but if you can get a color that won't show the stains as much, you may want to get that. The heat distribution on this thing is pretty great! I mainly got it to cook pastas and rice, specifically arroz con pollo and paella. It cooks chicken perfectly and makes sure that it retains it's moisture when you use the lid. I haven't experienced the enamel chipping but I try to be careful with it and only use wooden instruments. As far as how it compares to a cast iron, this is NOT non-stick, you still have to use oil or butter to prevent things from sticking. The last thing that I will add is that it it does great going from stove top to oven. Definitely a good value for the price.
